I 'need' to fit my lambda sensor to an aftermarket exhaust, can anyone tell me the diameter (or any other relevent info about the thread) of the 'nut' that will need welding to the exhaust to take the sensor?

I think they are all M18 x 1.5 as a standard size.

It's attached to your downpipe part of the exhaust and tells the ECU stuff about gas levels in your exhaust gasses......I think. As far as I know, they were only fitted on cars with a Cat.

Thanks for your help jmc330i.

It's all to do with emissions, on newer cars you get one before and after the cat (irrelevent), it measure the amount of burnt gas and tells the ECU, and then the ECU adjust's the fuel/air mixture :) all done very quick.
