I have a 1.8 auto in at the moment which is pretty lame. Is it worth putting a m42 in or would bigger be better?

cabbies are heavy so you need a 6 pot i wreckon.m52 if u like happy revving engine or a m30 if u like cruising with little effort.

I'd say no because Cabrios are for cruising and M42s like a thrash.

M30 it, you'll never look back.
You can "Cruise" at 20mph in 5th gear, no clutch judder, and it'll go off the clock if need be :twisted:

cheers guys, just in the early stages of considering a swap. what litre m30 you reckons a good shout?

M52B28, nice torquey cruiser that doesn't require it's own fuel tanker to run about in.. Can even shift if you feel that way inclined :)

Bigger is always better as they say :D

However an m42 manual would be a better upgrade than what you allready have in, and would possibly be a lot easier to fit than an m30 m52 etc
