There's a couple of B10 3.2/3.3's and some 4.6's, a couple of Z4 variants IIRC,an E32,an E21 but most of them are B3's unfortunately
1 out of 50 odd alpina's is an e38, shows it's rareness. It is also a 6.0 v12 confirming my point about the "average person" and not "average car" being able to run them.

I agree, even in green it looks good, just very difficult to justify having a 6.0 v12 car in this day and age. I don't earn millions unfortunately but if I did, i'd have a genuine one min my "fleet".

I don't see why others make such a hoo haa about what others do to their car? Let the owners do what the hell they want with them!

I've had 2 e38's in the last 2 months - one being fragged now providing bits for the minty FSH'd more or less standard spec. LPG, contour seats, OBC, the works. Smooth silky drive and miles better compared to the E32 V8 which i sold about 2 years ago. Much more responsive, quicker and better looking IMO.

Mind you..the electrical problems!!! Had the wipers go crazy on me and wouldn't turn off. Drained the battery. checked the wiper relay under the ecu and it was FUBAR'D. connected everything up and the car wouldn't start! Once that issue was sorted, I've had the rear electric windows stop working along with the central locking. Seems to me to be a fuse issue which will be looked at this week winkeye

The other issue I've noticed is that the springs are a little squeaky under weight? I replaced the standard tyres and rims with 20" deep dish (yes. 20".) rims, but i hear no squeaks when there are about 2/3 people in the car? with the whole family (5), it squeaks.

Anyone else had any similar issues?

The car is completely standard, apart from the rims and pressed plate. Even has the orange indicators and the O.A.P aged rear lights at the back. I bet that still doesn't affect some of the narrow minded fellows with side partings on here? If they haven't lost all their hair already winkeye

E30NutUK Any chance of any pics of yours with your 20" Rims. This car needs 20" rims. Mine is squeaking and wasnt before. Not sure why. I think the bushes may be dry. Also, my drivers window is playing up. Sometimes doesnt close, so have to close it using the Standard Total Closure Alarm.

Wheels in need of a big refurb. Anyone know any places?

The car should be going to BMW for everything needed. Still have the standard rims but i liked the look of these so after a full check in with BMW and a refurb, would like these to stay on.

All on standard ride height. I was surprised they went straight on. I don't know if its the bushes squeaking but its intermittent and comes and goes with weight in the car. The other thing is a nasty wobble at about 50 mph. Higher speeds its smooth as anything.

tried the smoked indicators

but preferred the orange ones so.. :?

Still looking to change front/rear lights because they are on the faded side. Has a a full silver/grey leather interior with all the usuals. Will be taking this out soon to make way for a full black one if anyone is interested!

The wheels are looking great. I would say you need to colour code the skirts and bottom lips. Also you would need clear indicators and not smoked. Stills looks great.

Have a look at my pics on Page 1 outside my house. You can see that it is not multiple occupant housing. Its my own house and im only 28. Ive also got a 2nd which is rented out for your information.

This thread is about the E38. Not about your shitty opinions and i suggest if you dont own 1 or dont like them and if you havent got anything good to say then Fxxx xxf and create your own thread.

the lips and sideskirts will be colour coded. I think OEM headlights/rear lights with clear indicators will be what I'm going for.

And by the way, not all people who live on council estates are chavs mate. I live in a council estate to support my elderly mum whom after her knee op can't walk with ease. Whats your point? Lann.

Leave off the generalisation. I can stereotype what sort of people this atitude is coming from. Give you an IC-1 description to a T, but then wouldn't that be racist?

Heres an example. 90% of peadophiles locked up in UK prisons are white. Does that mean that 9/10 middle aged white men are kiddy fcukers?? I think not.

Just because something ain't to your taste, It doesn't mean you take da pi$$. Fair enough its not to your liking, thats your opinion...but you know being like arseholes they are everywhere these days

Why don't you lot jog on over to the 7 series register. You will be welcomed with open arms as will your talk of 20" wheels, contour seats, housing portfolios, tints, personal injury claims, ink, eyebrows, chrome tat et al :)

:pff:

I dont like eyebrows, or chrome and ink? Old age catching up with you pete? winkeye

Like i said, stop with the generalisations and stereotypes or I'll be inclined to have to call you that 'special uncle' who his nieces/nephews are scared of!

And i don't need to 'jog' on anywhere mate. I've got an E30 :D.

You sound like one of those BNP dickheads who go on about 'why don't you go dress like that in your country" etc..i wish you could be tied to a lampost on Alum Rock Road or Wilmslow Road :rolling: I'm sure you'd get a decent seeing to.

For your info. I don't give a fcuk how many posts you got or how many people lick your ar$e on here...'Imma say it how i feel it' ...and in this instance..your off key mate.

Pete: This thread is in the other BMW Chat. Which part of that comes under E30's :?: Are you going to tell everyone they cant post threads about other BMW's on here. Only E30's.

Like I said before, if you dont like it, keep your nose out.

Trouble is, he'd enjoy that! Don't mention the Werthers Originals! :D

I bought my first house at 28 also, and outright. Since been joined by another, never had a mortgage. I wouldn't say property is the best thing to be in right now though! Still, it might improve.

Thanks for that, believe it or not, I'm already a member there as well as with the Supra Club, Celica Club, Toyota Owners Club, GT4OC and this club.

Although there are opinionated people in all the clubs, I have never come across such comments about any of my cars as I have here. Now I know that you guys are most definately not the voice of the whole club but you need to ask yourself, what example are you setting of other and new members of this club?

You guys like to make comments about us and our vehicles but as of yet you haven't answered my question in my earlier post of what have you got. I take it theres atleast an E30 but what else?

Here we go Kammy, this is my £500 E38. 2 owner total history with no warning lights, squeaks , rattles or dramas. I spent £50 to fix the TV and then served it quick before my luck ran out. The victim wasn't nearly as lucky.......

PS Sorry about the back drop, the local catholic church, there are no tower blocks in Gerrards Cross :)

I know English wasn't my first language but when I asked what have you got, I'm pretty sure that didn't mean what have you had. Or don't you like taking pics of your current motor? Can't be that much of a turd, surely you guys would know how to stay away from one?

Also, is your area that bad that you would have to drive away from it to take pics of your car?

That I am, surely you would have figured that out by now with all my posts on this topic alone. Besides those pics show a pretty standard car, so what is it about that that made it Council? Also the invitation is there to show any non 7 series monsters too.

Ok maybe I exaggerated a fact to make a point..but actually
..Restricted Scotland Yard documents reveal that Britain's child abusers are predominantly white males aged 36 to 45. Almost all have no previous convictions of sexual abuse. Those recently caught include teachers, politicians, accountants, police officers and lawyers. Many are family men who make victims of their own children. 'This isn't a crime limited to any special classes or young and old, although it is true that white middle-aged men are those we predominantly see abusing children,' said Warnock..
http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2008/ ... protection

An old article but i had a really long night and can't be bothered to pull out references. win/fail/cheat etc :D.

Admittedly, these statistics are a bit flawed because the amount of abuse not reported and the people not convicted are out of the roof. Family shame and disgrace and all that - alot within the South Asian community tbh.

Back on topic!

Anyone know why the rear central locking and e/windows cease to work in the E38? I've checked the fuses which all seem fine. They just stopped working all of a sudden?

I dont understand the relevance, or the point you are trying to make. Do you find it shocking that 90% of criminals are white? Child abuse or other crimes, this is Europe after all

The point i was trying to make was generalising and stereotyping will only get you the same back. I don't find it shocking tbh.

Maybe not the best example, but the first one that popped in my head. Apologies if it offended anyone!

Heres another example. 90% of people who like / have 'bruvlines' are of Asian origin / descent. Does that mean that 9/10 Asians are council with a serious bad taste pig iron fetish ?? :?

Last time i checked the term 'chav' generally applied to the white man? winkeye - with the whole asian invasion you can understand some influences being applied

This place has mint E38's. I dream would be a mint late 750i sport.

http://www.ultimate7.co.uk/index.html

This one is absolutely gorgeous. Perfect. Still looks like a very expensive car. What I liked about the 18" E38 wheels is that they looked big but a they had a decent amount of side wall.

Thanks Dan, for trying to take it back off topic, if you guys want to discuss that in more detail, i'm sure there is another place for you guys to compare facts and so on. This post is about our 7 series and comparing it to others motors. You guys were very opionated which you are entitled to but lets so some picture of what you have.

As has been mentioned, this post was started as as an E38 one on the 'other bmw' section. I can't understand that if you don't like them and don't have one to comment about then what were you doing looking here?

Kam
