Right then here is some of my progress with this project
To start with today i cleaned the engine bay you cleaning homo's got to me and i thought i might as well give it a go

Then there is the Clio servo i fitted this the other day but ive got to take it off again to make the spacer up that goes in the master cylinder and ive got to drill the hole so the e30 pin fits in it

Then i started tackling fitting the cooling fan i had to chop the bottom of this off so it would fit in the front of the touring and i didn't have a grinder so i used my old mans stihl cutter

Then i took to chopping up the rad mount on the n/s to get the rad to locate on it cant be arsed messing around in the boon yard for bits like this

And thats it for today i should have the sump back on the engine tommorow and then i can get on with fitting the E36 steering rack

Only had a couple of hours spare this afternoon so ive fitted the E34 oil pick pipe and the sump im glad ive done this now and not when its on the car i did enough swearing with it on the stand

then the sump

Then i pulled the water pump out and to my horror found a plastic impeller type pump that does not look that old but its still going in the bin in favour of a metal impeller one

Thats it for today not got much planned for tomorrow except for taking the fuel tank out of the breaker so i can fit it in my dads new E30 oh the joy's of E30 ownership

A big thanks to Dan for his work on my engine today he came round and fitted me a new set of seals for my vanos gear and he done these just in time as the old had fallen apart and this would of lost me power and cause all sorts of trouble.
Now for a couple of questions ive put the rocker cover back on with a new genuine gasket, got the nut out i dropped down one of the spark plug tubes put the plugs in and i seem to remember there being a thing to link the coil packs i just have a gap

I was thinking there should be something like the thing that hold the plug wires on? Am i right in thinking this

I hope i havn't lost these bits

Here's a pic of the engine a bit more back together

Hopefully this will be in the bay in the next couple of weeks all ive got to get now is
Rubber engine mounts
Exhaust down pipes to mate up to the e30 one
Fit the E36 air box
wire the cooling fan and get a twin speed switch
then that should be done i think
Then its time to sort the rear hand brake out rebuild the lot for a bit

You want them on there!

How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.
