NO, they sound good at lower rpms aswell. The ones without the later tensioner mod sound SHIIITTEE. Sound like 1.1 Fiesta's.Karan wrote:m3 sounds nice admittedly but only when ure raggingthe tits of it,
whereas a 6 sounds good all the time
Oh and M3 with same amount of money spent on engine as 2.7 rebuild is fantastic! YOu got to hear one with carbon Intake with MBE.......proper noise.
Is his car standard right now? if so then he is in for a massive shock! The bottom end torque increases are quite big, and the throttle reponse is going to be even sharper than before. Man is it going to rev! 7500 rpm!
Ive heard Evo Sports are rather brutal at top end aswell and are very very quick. 0-62 in 6.1 secs is not to be sniffed at!

Car feels better top end, i can't feel a loss in torque in my opinion. It sounds quality, no mono tone, nice and bassy low down for cruising and you can't hear it on the motorway unless you plant your foot! It's exactly how i hoped it to be. Most people like the sound anyway!M5pilot wrote:
So........you like the noise do you ! Please explain what it sounds like? Did you feel the better torque?
No, I meant have you noticed any torque increase at bottom end because when I swapped it for the Scorpion I lost loads of torque.
It might be a good idea to do a write up on that exhaust Simon because there arent alot of options out there for the E30.
Selling those exhausts is the worst mistake I ever made, I thought the magnex sounded good but this is a different league. Are you getting that really nice burbling noise at bottom end?

you have hit the nail on the head! burble burble. I honestly think it's the best sounding system i've heard so far.
Yes you should of kept one defo!
Standard system is hard to beat for torque isn't it? I think it's got a touch more urge through out the rev range. I don't think it is more torquey down low really. Mine is totally standard engine though. Should sound even better when i get my grubby mits on a magnex 6 brancher!
I thought the bexleys re-map lost you your torque on the C2?

Agreed best sounding system Ive come accross aswell.
They remapped the car again and again and just could not get that same amount of torque at bottom end again. It was just amazing before, @ 2000rpm I was getting 170 odd lb.ft climbing to around 200 @ 4000 rpm.
I could accelerate in 5th @ 30 mph very quickly!
Wanna get a Alpina 6 Banch instead to go with the Exhaust? Much better design which wont lose you low end torque. Ant fitted it long time ago and complained about losing bottom end torque. Alpina one does no such thing.

When I was doing my ARDS at Silverstone, there was an Warsteiner E30 M3 Touring car going round the inner circuit, it sounded fantastic.

Nissan 200SX S14a - Track Slag
BMW 328i Cab - Daily Slag
Whilst the exhaust is very very good, Quicksilver aren't great at "making" custom exhausts.Demlotcrew wrote:Sal could this place do me a back box like Simons with two 51mm outputs and one 51mm input?

Sorry dude.
Isnt there more choice of back boaxes for the iS? Try Supersprint etc. Or jsust tell me what you want and I will see what I can find.
Simon13:
Magnex are totally different to the Alpina design. I am doing another batch with Quicksilver, the last lot they screwed up a bit in terms of fit, so this time IM going to make sure they get it right.
I have no idea how exhaust manifolds work but due to the extra bends in the Alpina design bottom end torque doesnt seem to suffer at all. Magnex types seem to suffer low enf torque loss, maybe because the pipes are so straight? I dunno but hang on for the Alpina one I would say. BTB who also make manifolds said it was a superb design.

although to be honest the iS stock system is very good, i only felt a slight top end freer breathing when i changed minen to a simgle silendcer system, may be worth leaving it, as that new iS i have is quick even with the standard system, whereas my old one was a real revver

Well mate i only want a back box with two outputs because of the Mtech two kit that im going to up on, it will look silly with just one little pipe coming out. I dont want a performance exhaust but i also dont want to loose power.Karan wrote:although to be honest the iS stock system is very good, i only felt a slight top end freer breathing when i changed minen to a simgle silendcer system, may be worth leaving it, as that new iS i have is quick even with the standard system, whereas my old one was a real revver
