What's the standad size of a E30 calliper please? I need 60 mm for my new brakes to fit and i was thinking if the standard size of the calliper was 40mm or so, i could run 20mm spacers and solve the problem that way. My other question is, "IS 20MM SPACERS SAFE ON A CAR LIKE MINE"

Will your rims still be under the arches if you move them out 20mm? Dunno about how safe it will be, there was a disscussion on spacers a while back:

The thought seems to be to get the ones with the studs in them rather than the bolt through efforts.

I guess the width from one end to the other. He said i need 60mm from the face of my current disk to the back of my spokes. I've got a friend going round to measure it for me this morning just to be sure instead of guessing. I think that's by far the better option. I spoke to a mate of mine who's really good with cars and he said spacers are ok, but not to go past 10 to 13m otherwise ther will be broblems with the wheels turning. I dont mind this as i've always thought my wheels were half and inch too far inside my arch anyway. If worst comes to worst, i'll just buy new rims. I speak as though i have the money, but i dont. I will have to go to Kings Cross and see if i can sell my backside or catch a MP doing naughty things on Clapham Common, then i can blackmail him.
I'll know by the end of today.
