my e30's going through water? any common things?

hi guys
not used this much got an e30 sport last month, its since started to use water...problem is i donno where its going......

thought it was the headgasket, oil is a bit sludgey a wee bit, changed it on friday, with a fluxh i expected it to be really yellow!!

put about 5 litres of water into it!!
matrix seems ok
compression test is good

cracks?? do the heads go? any ideas welcome!!! fingers crossed its a leak.........

Yes, the heads do crack - under the rearmost two cam bearings. Oil gets into the water and water gets into the oil.
If the oil is not turning to mayo though, there's plenty of places that an E30 can leak coolant.

Whip the spark plugs out, if its burning water, then they'll be spotlessly clean.

sorry to jump on sombody elses thread but my carpets on both side are soaking wet and my water bottle has started to loose water

could it be my matrix leaking

thanks for all this!!

ill check for any external leaks tonight, the carpets seem fine, ill check the frost plugs anall, never thought of that!!

it took me almost a year to find a water leak on one of my old 325's only reason I found it was when it was left running on a ramp and I saw a drip near the water pump pulley. I changed the watter pump and never lost a drop after that
