can anyone help please my 318 i is overheating ive put new stat in but still overheating, could it be something else thanks

what are the circumstances of it overheating?
Does it just overheat all the time, when you are stationary in traffic? Does it cool down when you get on the move?

As Rich says, viscous fan or water pump are likely culprits. If its a M43 engine they like doing their head gasket around 100K.
