My history folder is now in a laptop case it's got so big. Every invoice for every part going back to approx. 1993 and 1 fully stamped service book and a second started.

Just the invoices from 2004 from when I bought it amount to in excess of £6k without the purchase price.

Mine has got full service history and I ran out of room of the service book for stamps 8O

Having owned my sport since 1994, I've got all the MOT's and tax disc's, files of history too and the old V5.

Pretty damn good amount, just a couple of gaps. Original invoice etc...

I am about too give it a service, and although there will be no stamp I will put the reciept for all the parts in the history file. :D

My 316i lux has a ton of service history.

Bills from BMW 10 years ago of £1000 at a time. Riduculous amount of money spent on this car. Service dating back from new with all warranty detailed. Not bad for £300 car.

The 325i convertible when I first got it had only the V5 lol. Now it has bills totalling nearly £1000 in just 1 year. 8O

My 318iS had loads of history, it was a pain in the arse to close the file! My 316i however had no service history and came with a couple of previous mot certificates - which was exactly what i wanted! It now has a bursting file of reciepts and bits after i've spend a "few" grand on it.

Intresting topic. 8)

My 1989 e30 has BMW service history up till 2006 and then reciepts for the service items(done by me)thereafter. It has every invoice(that i am aware of)from BMW main dealers from 1989 through to last week. :D .Every MOT is present with no gaps. Theres hand written letters to various owners from dealers and even the envelopes they were sent in 8O . There are pages from Autotrader from when it has been for sale over the years and hand written receipts, of i think, all subseqent owners regards the cars sale.Theres about 4-5 A4 pages in its (body coloured!!!)history file of "till reciepts"for stuff like waxoyl, bulbs, grease and polishing cloths, all labeled up what they were for. :D
I also have the DVLA history with all the owners etc logged in detail.

1 and a third Lever arch files

Sadly it's not Full history. one of the previous owners either did nothing to the car or never saved the reciepts. There's a gap of IIRC 6 months to a year of nothing in about 97/98 ish. Stupid twat!

That's f**k all of an issue though Rich! It's not gonna affect anything is it? I bet anybody viewing your file wouldn't spot it and you'd look even better pointing it out.

MOT's back to '94. Most of the services up to 2007, then a couple of bills and every invoice since I've had it (only since October, about £500 worth).

Not much if any.

I do know the previous two owners though and what they did, that'll do me, doesn't affect how it runs.

I have nothing apart from a receipt for the last mot, the last mot certificate and the v5 (and I guess all online mot test records although I don't physically have them) and it doesn't bother me one bit. A car is what it is not what it has been, all the parts are replaceable and anyway masses of service history is for MGB owners or people who recreate factory markings on bell housings etc :D

I've got everything from the time I came to own it about 3 years ago, but nothing previous, only the radiator cap recall notification :?

My car was free though, and I'm planning on running it into the ground so it's of no bother at all. It keeps hanging on in there (just) :D

No history prior to my purchase of the car in January 2007.

I now have 2 plastic case folders with a new service book, radio manual and Australian Supplement and receipts for all parts, servicing, upgrades, etc., etc.. Receipts total in the vicinity of £15 500.

Mine had a folder with various reciepts going back to the mid 90's. Added them up and came to $21400 Australian. the guy that owned it 2 owners back was very particular. He even put a new dash in, had tailored mats fitted and had the under bonnet insulation replaced. I have spent another 2-3 grand on it.Result is a nice old car to drive.

My '91 325i convertible was first registered in Hong Kong and then re-imported into the UK only 45,000 miles on the clock and fully documented history including original Chinese registration document, receipt for Alpine stereo in Chinese and English, but best of all BMW service book is stamped by the Hong Kong dealership in Chinese and English !!
Car is rot free and immacualte, has hardly seen any rain or salt .....so don't use it much in the UK !!!! only sunny warm days, rest of the time it sits covered up in the garage.

Probably lost a shed load of miles as it cleared customs then...

I've got a fair bit from Germany. Stamps in the book and a single bill for a few thousand DMs! Insp 2 IIRC.

FBMWSH from PDI to date with sevice book extended by a number of additional pages.

Every MOT it has had in its life.

All receipts for services and parts from when I first bought the car at 4 years old. I don't want to add them up as it will make me feel ill  All are BMW as no part other than OEM bought for the car.
Warranty books from my purchase.

Plus the 4 reports from Motor magazine when they had it on loan from BMW for 12,000 miles. In addition, correspondence from the staffer, Jeremy Sinek who had it for the duration with Motor.
TBMW article Sept 2002
"Looking after Jo Jo" BBC TV appearance 1997.

As many concours judging sheets as I can get from when I stated showing it in 1988
