Sooooo when we gonna see some pics?!Ant wrote:TBH as mine's Alpine White II I think it needs the black contrast from the Tech 1 on the boot , hence being sat on the fence for now lol !

Btw, im pretty sure the Alpina spoiler come like a tech 1, ie a black tip and a body coloured section all be in in primer.
That would also contrast just like a tech 1 spoiler, just put it on and forget that tech 1 nonsense!

Tech 2 spoilers a nice but ONLY with a full tech 2 kit, they look stupid without the rest of the kitDezzy wrote:Have to agree the kit itself is ok but the rear ironing board is fooking turd!e30topless wrote:the Tech 2 is rank ! I hate themRoyalratch wrote:

So do you big gays not like tech 1 boot spoilers either?datourer wrote:Nope, me too, but I guess it compliments the equally grotesque Alpina front spoiler.Royalratch wrote:Am I the only one in thinking this spoiler is grotesque?

Not really no.
I don't like the TECH II spoiler that much either but it's better than that daffy duck thing you're excited about lol.
That spoiler makes it look really really dated. The only spoiler I really like is the iS one to be honest.

That's why I said very very dated as in not of the same era even. It looks a bit add-on, aftermarket and just too tray hard. Totally out of the E30 design language.
My taste is unquestionable anyway so to hell with you all.

Unquestionably dubious.

To me it looks like a Tech 1 wannabe, and if you look at it, it is, invented after the the origional Tech 1 from BMW

If you Got "Haters",Then your doing something Right!
CR24v??? Where's it all gone?? LOL
As you look for the dealers number on your phone and your credit card?sweep wrote:I keep trying to tell myself theres nothing wrong with my tech one....

M badges on a non M car are also very council ........martyyn wrote:Ive got both a tech I and an Alpina spoiler to go on my 'is'.

In the UK, the official importer for Alpina was Sytners and they used to sell models only available in the UK such as the E23 B10 3.5 seven series.martyyn wrote:Ive got both a tech I and an Alpina spoiler to go on my 'is'.

One package they offered was the "Alpina 3" which was a styling package of Alpina 16" alloy wheels, front and rear Alpina spoilers, Alpina steering wheel and gear knob, ALPINA script badge on the rear and an Alpina key fob.
This was available for any E30.
As Pete says, putting an M badge on a non M car is just as bad if not worse. Its just about passable on a 325i Sport but anything else is a no no.

Haha, in my defence BMWNZ stick M badges on pretty much everything over here. The number of e46 318i's with motorsport kits and badges is huge.
Its the only way they can sell them and Ive even had a BMW dealer try to tell me they are genuine motorsports just because they have the kit optioned from new.
But youre right it shouldnt be on the 'is' and I know it shouldnt be on the car, but I quite like it so it stays

A 325i Sport is a UK only lash up of some nice bits dreamed up by dealer marketeers.
The 318iS is a factory released GLOBAL Sport model which had sport interior, suspension, trim from factory as specified by BMW (not Gordon up in Marketing!) and a unique engine with proper motorsport input and later on a full-on race version in the S42!
If anything, the 318iS has more right to an M badge than the 325i Sport!
M badges are council on everything including M3s.

In europe excluding the UK, they didnt have sport interiorThe 318iS is a factory released GLOBAL Sport model which had sport interior, suspension, trim from factory as specified by BMW (not Gordon up in Marketing!) and a unique engine with proper motorsport input and later on a full-on race version in the S42!

A sport has more M technic parts than an iS.Royalratch wrote:The flaming cheek!bss325i wrote:As Pete says, putting an M badge on a non M car is just as bad if not worse. Its just about passable on a 325i Sport but anything else is a no no.

Sport also has an LSD where as with an iS its an option.
Oh yeah, the sport was also available in Australia, South Africa, Japan (badged 325iS) and in Europe but in Europe is was called the M technic sport paket.
MrLEE on here has a Jap spec 325i Sport.
A bit more global than you might think mr ratch!
Not only that, the M20B25 was used in competetive motorsport but the M42 wasn't.
