Stone chip repair

Finally got round to sorting some chips...only had the car 4 years. There were 5 or 6, these pics are all for the same chip, near the BMW bonnet roundel.
First job, clean out chip and add some Kurust.



Then it's a case of adding as little paint as possible via a matchstick as an applicator. Squinty eyes time
3 coats later and time to flat the paint back with 2500 grit wet and dry. Smooth but dull. No turning back now (GULP)

Time for the Porter Cable, and a small cutting pad and Megs DACP dual action cleaner polish (83#) compound. 3 passes, about 5 mins each, and it looks a lot better!

Finished off with Megs hand polish and a layer of their NXT liquid wax.
I'm pleased with the result, the last time I did this I was a spotty teenager and was trying to touch up my then girlfriends yellow Cavalier. Work my age out from that !
By the time I had finished me and the car looked like we had chicken pox

Yep, same process for metallic paint too.
