Performance drop is less noticable with a large engine, check out the Zone Roam thread regarding fuel economy on the recent event,we had two LPG users, and one of them was very difficult to keep in sight, never mind keep up with!
Longer term,my concern is that LPG is a derivitive of the same process as petrol/diesel,so as world stocks of crude get harder to extract it's base cost will rise in the same way.In addition to this,LPG is only 'cheap' because it carries a very low rate of duty in the UK,would only take a stroke of the Chancellor's biro to change this....

CNG is a much better option, but there bar-stewards who control the pumps don't give it out. In other forgeign countries it is the most used form of Fuel.

You'll save ~£1500 in 2500 miles? That's 60p per mile, or roughly the difference between a litre of each fuel. So unless you're doing about 4.5mpg, I think your calculations are a little optimistic!Topblag wrote:It'll pay for itself in approx 2500 mls by my calculations. My daily is LPG'd & it's definitely worthwhile for me, but I do a lot of miles...
E30 in need of wiring loom smoke since April '11...
lol now your tempted!!!Falkster wrote:Are there any performance draw backs?Topblag wrote:It'll pay for itself in approx 2500 mls by my calculations. It's a compelling argument.....grantfk10 wrote:I just got a quote for the cabby - £1,300.00 + VAT

Why not rebuild the S14 to run on LPG full time! Then you can up the compression to take advantage of the higher octane of LPG over petrol - probably enough to make up for the loss in calorific content over petrol.SDM wrote:Can you convert the s14??
I'm not tempted for the s14 but it might make s difference when buying a new car.SDM wrote:lol now your tempted!!!Falkster wrote:Are there any performance draw backs?Topblag wrote: It'll pay for itself in approx 2500 mls by my calculations. It's a compelling argument.....
