Hi,

I've spent a lot of time searching on here but can't find a comparable thread so apologies if this is repeated.

I have a 2.5 from a 1991 cab (no cat) and want to put into my 1986 320. The 320 is jetronic with the 'd' shaped diagnostic plug. The 2.5 has ecu 0261200380 which I think is motronic 1.3. I have the loom, ecu etc for the 325 and will be using that. I'm away from the car so can't check the exact sockets etc but I want to know what I need to do to get the facelift loom etc working in the pre-facelift car? i thought I'd found some wiring notes before but can't find them now. Is the connector into the fuse box the same?

Also on a mechanical front...
Can I use the starter motor and exhaust manifold from the 320?
Do i need the oil cooler? Will the 320 exhaust restrict the 2.5 significantly?

I need to get a manual box...I like the idea of using a 320 box (for the ratios) or is the normal 325 box the way to go?

Thanks

If you have all the facelift bit it will plug and play you can use the 320 exhaust but it will restrict the flow a fair amount and slow the car down

Oh ok so no wiring issues then...maybe i was reading about putting pre-facelift into facelift then.

So I can use the 320 manifold but just better to use 325 exhaust? Starter the same?

cheers will, I'll check on all the connections when I'm with the car and make sure.
