Update.
Slave was here when I got home today so after tea made a start on refitting.
Slave fitted first this time to avoid the same thing happening again :D
Box went straight back in no problem and the top bellhousing bolts are quite easy once youve done them a million times
Anyway finally came in about 10 mins ago.
Everything built back up,exhaust back on and clutch bled.
So far all seems well and clutch pedal feels nice.
Car is still on axle stands so havent tested properly yet but did run the engine for a bit and no untoward noises from the clutch so looks like success :D

Paul, see you after work tommrow

All you mincers want large capacity and multivalve engines. :? ala the m62. This lazy mofo engine only produces 65bhp per litre! :?

Mind you a standard m52 isn't great at 69bhp per litre :gay:

That is an epic picture! :chuckle:

Got the car back and driven it home, poifect! Clutch is as light as a feather. B15NAC met me at eko's and sold me some springs too, and to show off my old 318iS to me. It's immaculate and im glad an enthusiast is looking after it! Got me thinking again whether i should of sacked off the vast service history and 24v'd that instead :? Either way, bring on the rolling road day next week :D

I did alot of research squire. well, abit of research :chuckle: Most e36's had a 20.64mm bore slave cylinder. Some 328i's had the bigger 22.somethingmm slave cylinder - which is the same as the 3.0 e36 m3 slave cylinder. No grinding noises either which is always win!

Great service from bmw though, phoned up about 10:00am on monday and it was sent from another dealer inside the UK to eko's front door by lunchtime on tuesday!

Picked up the vanos seals from the post office this evening too - thanks dan :D

Its not too shabby is it? :P Shame that it looses alot of the speed through lack of traction. Cheers for the springs bud :D

Question is now though - what do i do with the non vanos lump i now have spare? I'm thinking something along the line of a rebuild (becuase i want to learn how to do it anyway!) and maybe boost Or just stuff a 3ltr bottom end on? :?

its a shame you dont have a facelift 2dr tbh :P I was actually thinking when i was stuck in traffic on the way home (sat in the gorgeous recaro seat :D) that the car actually has a pretty large spec. I could go on for ages but a decent example is that the bushes that havent been changed is the front ARB bushes (which will get done when i upgrade the ARBs) and the front topmounts (i want to get some decent adjustable topmounts when i get decent suspension). All the bushes i have changed are the expensive options and the better options where possible like z3m diff bush, eccentric front wishbone bushes, etc etc.

As a stop gap i've got some standard iS springs. Eventually the car will be getting h&r springs with bilstein dampers but iS springs are better than touring springs.

Oh and it goes broadside at 2.5krpm in second gear when slowly acclerating 8O

will do bud :thumb:

Picked my my m3 lsd today :D And i definately need a bigger radiator to keep it cool. Has anybody got any decent ideas for an oem looking header tank? I want to try and find one that will fit next to the washer bottle. I think the z3 one might fit?

This weekend (if it isn't raining!) i want to do a couple of jobs on the car, fit some better speakers that i kept out of the donor car and try and fit the s50 airbox for that oem look (its a disease i swear). The s50 airbox has a bigger diameter where the maf goes but i will see what i can do.
