Totally agree it is the way forward for most zoners, but it's not just me that likes the M30, there's plenty on here too.

Like I said in a previious post somewhere, if its worth "Converting" to 24V's then it has to be the "S" versions. 8)
S50's are a totally different ball game, just remember the £6k DIY instal figure :)
An M30 has its good points, but to say its better than an M50/M52 or 'this modern shit' is a bit silly really winkeye

Or we could paint it down the side of his car.. So everyone can read it as he gets beaten down the strip by a 24v chariot.. (That's if he man's up and does it this year... winkeye )

late M30's (like late M20's) don't have a 'distributor' in the traditional sense. Ok, they have a distributor cap but as we're being picky i thought i'd best have my say too!

Anyways, apart from the m30 bashing (we all know 24v's are better, its just like the 6potvs 4pot!)

A small fishing hole was made into the gearbox to fish the bastard thing out... he managed to pull out a part of the metal washer but he was certain that wasnt everything and he couldnt fish anything out with the magnet.

40 minutes later Eko had the 'box out! Dedication... or more than likely the desparation to get my turd off his drive for more than a few days :chuckle:

Low and behold an aluminum (so its not even bloody magnetic!) part of the piston was lodged right at the back of the bellhousing out of reach. The part has a "few" knocks to it, i'm sure the photos will be here at some point!

M30's are an improvment over an M20 any day and really plant you in your seat and will make you take off over a hump back bridge easy enough (riding shot gun with Gareth in Scotland was amussing after Miles shite him self :D ) But im still going M50 as its what i want it seams the best option to me good power reliable and economical with out the need for lpg

I would rather an M20 than an M30.. 8O

Gareth is ginger, which make him strange, and explains his M30 deviancy.

Rav... Is just very speshul.

Both as dellusioned as each other however :P

An M50 is as quick as an M30 over a 1/4 mile..

I did.. In 3 runs I got a 15.3, but it was pulling 93mph across the line, which means I should have been in the 14's! Having never done it before, I could not get the fucker off the line, I would have run all day, but put a hole in my rad.. I am not sure they do. Fastest one I remember was running 15.4 or there abouts was it not?

Do multi-valve engines come with an inferiority complex? It's always the M42 weirdos that go on and on too... Blah, blah, blah.

What a pain with the slave cyl though. Could have happened to anyone - better that it wasn't just a quick swap of a leaky one when you needed the car for work the next day or something!

Everyone knows that A: red cars are faster, and B: (contrary to what you may have been told) size does matter. I therefore feel little need to stoop to joining these 'debates' - especially when they always end up discussing economy, as if this is a sodding prius owners club. Zzzzzz.

Plus I'd also be on 'the same side' as that french-coloured, eybrowed-up, plastic-bumpered monstrosity mentioned above and frankly, my ego is too fragile for that :)
