I did Brighton to Walsall on a tank in my 328i.. Sitting at 80 most of the way. Still had enough squirt after to get me about for a few days iirc

it's getting harder to find certain parts I have found, so if the right one's come up then you have to travel !

I bet I have clocked up 1000's of miles collecting for parts for my car, ?

wheels, kent and back 600 miles

interior, surrey and back 480 miles, I must be nuts !

Why don't you guys just use couriers? They;re so cheap and surely time is the most valuable thing.

I'd rather have me day and pay £40 than the tank of fuel (£50+?) and 8 hours in the car.

But when picking up valuble parts that arnt readily availible and some di@k head courier damages it you'll thank the effort of getting it your self.

Plus theres a nice Hartge im sure Si had a good look at.

there was a nice Hartge the 13 had a nice drive of. Steve i don't think i said thanks for that!

I like a road trip, i very much doubt you'd get a 30kgs car carpet delivered for £40 over a 200 miles distance.

about £15 with interparcel :D
nowhere near as much fun as a nice long drive though.

i just picked up a LPG kit and 2 diffs from scotland, i was in the area though :D

that's another 1% of the cars mileage (1800 miles over a few days) added to the old bus :D

M1 = nasty
M6, not bad until the top where it's actually a really nice drive! if you get there, don't stop, keep on up the A7 and remind yourself why you own a E30

Thanks for the free bump! saves me looking for it as the mood to spanner has taken. So this is the past 2 evenings efforts

I'm been allowed this due to collecting a large stash of parts as of late

Image

Seen it before? la la la, but there is a difference the filler neck is in. What a sausage when theres 5 pipes that connect to it now and a 10mm bolt and the bracket. But i'm side tracking the real cause for a stiffy is there is an H&R roll bar there! f**k me where did that come from Barry?! :o Chomo

Image

Check the "S" still stamped on the diff, sad i know

Image

Fuel filter and all pipe work fitted in. I've had the tank out again just for a laugh. But really its beacuse i found a better loom for here. The old one was bodged up around the brake pad wear sensor. Also you can't fit brake hoses either! So my braided lines are on(thanks Henry)The one i've put in isn't molested here so all good. You can't change it with the tank in :? This loom plugs in under the rear seat drivers side and has the wiring for the speedo, brake pad wear, fuel level senors and the fuel pump.

New guards on, i bought 2 new i thought fook it like always, usually they're plastic on the later cars. What do i get? 1 plastic 1 metal :? rather than be a tit i just keyed the metal one up and stonechipped it to what we see here.

Lots of action here and pipes flying around. Not too much swearing either i'm pleased to say

Image

Image

This flap has been waiting an age to go on!! The metal guard which hides your breather pipes and is always rotton now is such is pain to fit :?

Image
Image

Some of the chaos, doesnt seem much in a few photos, but its been a good 3 hours each night. Although there is a strictly no rush approach/mindset.

Image

Large box with pina tape?! hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Image

Air con type one whoop whoop

Image

And to finish it all off a new bootspoiler. Just a trial fit here! Loads of money thats cleaned me all out. BUT! this lot along with a new front panel and my brake ducts are getting painted very soon. So more progress can be made on the front end.

I just need to buy some alpina discs and take a large one up the bottom for 300 euro for the pair. Then i can give the front end the same as the rear.

Rear is 99% complete, just need to fit the recon calipers once i've built them back up. They're currently being blasted and re plated. I hope they come back ok. Fronts i bought off the shelf for £40 from GSF. They wanted £70 for the rears each for stock E30 ones 8O euros were the same. Hence the different route taken

Once the new front panels are done its going to be epic..........

Nice. I'm the kind of person that would keep the box because it has Alpina tape. :o:

Agreed si. That damper lets it down. Refinish it and it'll make a top job better :D

Ford Daytona yellow would do it.

I doubt this will be ready for the pod. Simon still has to build the engine for it. An extremely expensive task I'm afraid to say.

Not a car to be rushed now after all the hard graft.
