Should work now:
I'll have to have a look through the thread again for the photoshop.
Looking forward to the seeing this project happen, I've thought of a 2 door touring before but not in great detail.

The van approach is worse than the hearse method. Without a C-Pillar it will look retarded, like some kind of NHS hearing aid delivery vehicle.
But I think Beardymatt has a plan...

I've got a feeling this is going to be an awesome thread. Personally i like the 4 door but with the m3 front and rear arches, maybe you could just delete the rear handles and put one piece of glass in the rear door rather than it being broken up so you'd loose one pillar (the small thin one)?

I have to gear myself up to change some mud flaps so to me attempting this is madder than anything ever.

Well unfortunately ive had a major stall in this project, I was happily getting on with it when i spotted a for sale ad for a rolling M3 shell, i had a quick look and it was lachs silver which just happens to be my favourite e30 colour barring granite, i ruled it out on the grounds of being debt free for the first time in around 10 years. Two days went by and i could no longer resist so i phoned up ollie (the owner) and bought it over the phone
So i now have the perfect home for the S50 no money and piles of parts i no longer need, yay.
Im going to keep hold of the touring shell as i still want to do something with it but for now the priority is to get the M3 up and running and then start making it a minter

Another S50 E30M3 very cool
IMO for what it's worth Mat touring M3's I have seen have never looked right. I am sure yours would have been proportioned correctly though.
Any pics of the shell?

Ive only got one pic at the moment, searched through ollies old posts for some but he`s really efficient at deleting them, lol.
Ill get some taken and post em up on monday when im back at work, ill probably just keep adding to this post with the build of the M3. Theres still going to be some decent bodywork shots later on as the shell has had some iffy repair work at the rear at some stage in its past, doesnt look bad to a casual observer but deffinately not up to my standards so will get done properly.
Id just about got my head round fitting the S50 in a rhd shell and now im having to learn about fitting in lhd, should make the manifold a whole deal easier though.

Matt the manifolds still need modding dude
I put an S50B30 into a 320iS for a customer, yes the rack input shaft is out of the way but the floorpan and ARB will still need a workaround solution.

They do indeed.. And bulkhead..
What a waste of a 320iS though.. Might as well have used a normal shell!

I had read on uwe`s thread that the bulkhead was an issue but thats not a problem for me and my collection of hammers, just need to work out where to hit it before i get the bay painted. Thought i might go to btb for a proper exhaust making anyway so i guess they can clear the arb for me too.
how did you get on with the servo? im using a clio servo and buster has already notched the plenum on the S50.

I'm sure you'd rather invest the time in the M3 Mat, you can always do the touring later down the line.

Servo is a harder issue with the M3 as you can't move it over!
