325 touring sump change!

Has any one experience of changing a sump pan on a 325i touring. Lowered and living in the country has worn through! To me it looks like you have to lift the engine or drop the cross member, any information is gratefully recieved.

hi guv ive done it and it wasn`t nice u hav 2 take the plate off at the bottom ov the box first and the pan does just come out but it`s not easy but u dont have 2 raise the engine took me about 3 hours start 2 finnish?
