The speaker connectors atm have a spade and a pin for pos/neg.
One of the front oem speakers isn't working atm but I think I forgot to re-connect it up when I took it out a little while ago.

Nice unit.Ollie_bwoii wrote:New headunit on its way, its a Sony CDX-GT24.
Anyone know what connector I will need or would you just solder the wires and heatshrink and not bother with a connector?
Got fed up of old headunits sounding cr4p and breaking. And this ones quite subtle for a modern headunit.
Just fitted the GTU33 in my iS.

Thought i'd post what I will be up to on my 2 weeks off.
- Carpet out for a repair and clean,
- Fit an oem stereo loom and new headunit.
- Fit remote central locking. Part aftermarket, part oem.
- Sort water in headlight.
- Fit two minty rear lights.
- Work out why the tilt mechanism isn't working properly on the passenger seat.
- Get rid of some surface rust that's on the drivers side rear arch.
- Stonechip and then satin black the sills.
- And then a bloody good clean.
Let's hope the weather holds off.

I have a slightly different version of that head unit and it has Bluetooth which is great. Just get in the car and the phone conects to the radio. Once you get a call it comes through the speakers.
Only problem is if you have a screeming engine or the windows open the person at the other end will find it hard to hear you.
The other problem with mine is the buttons are illuminated in blue not nice red like that one.

Is that backing plate an OEM pre-facelift part? If so i didn't realise pre-facelifts had these as an option.

IMO it's better without. I think it would look better on a lighter colour like maybe an Alpine white 1 24v'd C reg chromie

Doesn't look much different so a bit pointless TBH - sorry mate.
Sure someone on here has a henna car with one of these fitted that looks good but black on black is a bit of a waste of time.
Flog it and use the cash towards your lowering springs

Nah, its really grown on me, so it's staying.
Yeh I had a look and the front leg's and are pretty rotten, so the leg's you've got will be the best option. Could you possibly get me a pic of what you've got? As I may need a few new bits. Back plates are shot as well.
Rear arms, again look pretty damn rotten, I can't quite see under the rubber mount if it's rotten or not but my guess is it most probably is.
Everything is covered in black waxoil as it looked a state and I needed to get it through an MOT.

Don't think it works Ollie! I'd recommend some new "old style" dealer plates though in a plate surround or sticky pads. Would clean the rear end up alot imo

Laurence, it's on its original dealer plates, so they will be staying. Keep having dirty thought's on german style plates but then I talk myself out of it. Probably a good thing.
Rob, I reckon the top's of those arms look in better condition than mine, so I reckon it's going to be a crumbly mess. I think Dan still has the rear amrs from his chromie, so if all else fails....

Long day on this old turd today.
I've had all the interior out, have put in a complete oem loom for the stereo, 4 new speakers, new headunit.
All is working great now, so chuffed to bits.
However the central locking didn't get finished, I have got all the wiring in, and the boot all mounted up.
I can't work out where the linkage rod's for the actuators connect too in the door though?

This is what I've left behind.

Ollie, I believe Dan does still have those minty rear arms, but in the event he does not, you are welcome to the rear arms complete (brakes & drive shafts etc) from my Chromie, they should be coming off this weekend I reckon. Yours for free sir, if you can get them collected.
