any ideas on this prob lads?
ive got a 320 auto and after driving it about for an hour and half it leaked fluid .
i topped it up and drove it home it just about made it and was leaking again.
after a couple of days i filled it up and went for a drive to test it.
it was fine no leaks and was changing up and down as it should after about 20 miles it started to rev up high and was chucking
fluid on the exaust and up the rd.
it was all over the back of the engine it looks like it was coming
from the filler pipe but was also covered underneath.
could the seal be gone and after driving it have i damaged the
torque converter?
the fluid colour was milky white.

im not sure but by the milky white you describe it sounds like you have water in the box if that is the case your box will build up exes pressure and blow fluid out any where it can but wait and see what the knowledgeable guys think

If its water getting in then the only way that could happen is the rad has split and if forcing the coolant into the oil cooler on the side. (overheating problem?)
You'll have to go some to damage the tourq converter, more likely you've burned the gearbox.
Stop driving it until you know whats wrong before you knaker it completely, or give me some beer tokens for the one in my garage.

bang on lads when i brought the car in 08 the fella was selling it saying the hg had gone
his mate told him and he sourced a good 2nd hand head.
when i looked at it i dipped the sump and checked the filler cap
but there was no sign of water in the oil.
after running it up it got hot straight away.
i took a chance and took it home it turned out it was the rad that was fooked.
when i took the thermo housing off it was like a tub of butter inside.
changed the rad and flushed it through, changed the fluid no more overheating
issues.
it sat in the garage for a couple of years apart from starting it and driving it
round the car park that was all the use it got.
got it moted in feb 2010 and out it came it covered over 100 miles no prob in the first day
the next time it started to chuck out the fluid.
the rad is fooked again until andyp gave me another one.
theres now water in the box again.
so maybe the damage was done the first time it happend
i now need another box but ive just picked up a silver 2.5 touring auto
which is too nice to break so the cabby is banged up again
thanks for all the advice lads
how many beer tokens for your box mr martinaston and where bouts are ya?
