New belt, tensioner and water pump fitted

Image

i also cleaned the crank position senor while i was down there, was caked in shit

I fitted the rad so i could fit the auto box coolant lines so i could start it
Image

Image

i really didnt want to turn the key incase it all went clunk and bang but it ran :D :D Started better than before too 8)

However never fit the autobox coolant pipes hand tight  you should see the floor :chuckle:

Image

Next will be the tappets and new oil spray bar and hopefully the interior and front end will be complete

I met topblag aka Collin yesterday and picked up a cabby interior and 2 cabby front wings. one of the wings isnt the best at the bottom but eventually i will source another wing with mint bottom and get it welded on behind the bump strip.

Interior is pretty good aswell. when i got home i scrubed them all with plenty of hot water and a scrubing brush with plenty of Bio logical washing powder winkeye then used a wet vac afterwards on them.

also got a horseshoe with blue bit of trim which i need to swop over onto the white horseshoe, if this is even possible?????

Image

i wouldnt reccomend using a 2 door to pick that lot up again :chuckle:

Also picked this door up from 12345kevin about 1 hour ago 8)

needs work thats why it was originally broke (ive seen people weld worse and ive seen worse), needs a patch in door shut, one in inner arch and a few in rear panel at the bottom

i'am getting it back together then taking it for MOT and welding at once, i will grind all the crap out myself with a cordless angle grinder

Managed to get the horseshoe open in the end, i removed the 2 scews holding the catches in place and lifted it up that way. In the process i lost 2 screws

its much easier to work on with the roof down too

I mock fitted the wings and door, as i'am wating for the proper screws and nuts to arrive to fix the wings and door in place but its starting to look like a complete car again at the front. Does anyone know how to push the door catch it by hand :x

i could only fit the rear seats in the car after all the other bits were in so i decided to fit them too, along with fixing the seat belts in properly.

it might look like slow progress since the first post but its amazing how much actually needs doing

all good fun though :D

I think the progress is good, but that carpet is letting the interior down being grey. Did you get door cards with the seats?

You've got the blue horseshoe insert iirc???

Start off with the nice bits

Picked this up from touring whore, aka Guy on sunday, its fooking lovely, plan was to set tappets and fit new oil spray bar at the same time but the feeler guage didnt have a 0.25mm bit so only fitted the oil spray bar.

Image

However should there be some thread left showing once each side has been screwed in??????

Image

Now for the arse end

A nice prevoius Repair with Some rubber shit

Image

Ummm rust

Image

The top half is solid but has no paint on :? Dont quite know why, i think the previous owner was going to do some work but gave in so wether he has rubbed the paint off ???

Certainly isnt the original panel.

the other side is the same, no paint but clean metal after the surface rust was removed. Luckly it looks like the other side need a very very small patch at the bottom about half the size of a credit card.

Image

then it was cleaned and painted in anti rust primer

Image

Image

Same here, no paint but not rotten??

again looks like shoddy workmanship

Image

rubbed it back to bare metal with p120 and a wire brush and again painted in anti rust primer

Image

tiny spot at top where boot seal sits

Image

Image

another small spot of bare rusty metal which i rubbed back

Image

Image

Boot floor didnt look too clever, had loads of shiney metal showing :? So i cleaned it all with white spirit and painted with anti rust primer, once this drys i will mask it all off and respray alpine white II

Image

Image

Started digging, A whole new rear cubby compartment will need welding in, hope there not too mch at the dealers

Image

Image

Lovely around towing eye, plenty of fiberglass came out here too winkeye

Image

Loads of holes under them blocks to the right and left of the picture too

Image

Image

I dont know wether i should fit a new rear panel

Must get myself a cordless grinder too winkeye winkeye

i can see this going on for a good few years
