What wheel have you got? Could try spraying some electrical contact cleaner (available from Halfrauds) down it without taking it off or take the whole wheel off and attack it from underneath.

That's a (non M Tech) Sports wheel. I have a spare in my garage. Probably better off taking it off completely. Gently prise out badge with cloth covered wide blade screwdriver to reveal hex nut. Undo with socket and pull wheel off. This should give access to circular contacts. Clean these up and apply a little copper grease. Should do the trick.

Erm... yes... now discovered actually it just pops off in a piece when you look sideways at it, so maybe that woudl be a bit drastic...MONSPORT42 wrote:What wheel have you got? Ah yes, well you see this is the trouble with people like you who know what you're doing - you think nothing of taking the big ends out during your lunch break, so wheeking the wheel off seems like the obvious thing - whereas to the likes of me, fitting a new headlight bulb caused me Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder for months, as everything fell apart and I felt like torching the car there and then...MONSPORT42 wrote:Sorry Hogweed, went into the garage this morning and found out for myself on my old wheel! PS how DO you get the fcuking headlight bulbs out when the metal sleeve you're supposed to rotate to release is jammed solid...

Based on my previous answer.... remove the front wing....!
Fiddly buggers aren't they. Could try several liberal applications of WD40 and leave to soak in overnight. I believe you need to push the barrel towards light before twisting - again from a bad memory. By the way I do very little on my car, I leave it all to Bexleys. In fact it should be in there now having new rear wheel bearings and pads and having an extra transmission oil cooler fitted but I'm still here in Portsmouth and can't get there 'cos of work.
