Very cool!

I thought there was only 1 known one over here owned by a zoner?

But congrats on owning such a rare car and welcome.

When I saw the title of htis thread I thought for a second that someone had been well and truly hoodwinked by a Sport of dubious provenance with some Alpina stickers on it and some random numbers thrown in for good measure...

How nice not to have to be cynical for a bit!

Really interesting car, mate - wish you luck with it! :)

 these are rare enough is SA, they have the 3.3 litre engine from the early 6 series iirc

they cam as standard with alpina alloys, tech 1 front and rear bumpers and 333i specific side skirts

this is certainly a rare beast and looking at the pics it needs some loving and needs to be locked away and taken to shows

the SA cars arnt as well rust protected so be prepared to find holes behind the sills etc

Oh and more pics ??? :D

A lot I guess. I would strip the car down to search for rust.

Just the interior to check the floor pan and inner arches and the boot carpet. Also checking the bulkhead.

Take the seats and door cards out - it'll only take you 15 mins and have a good hunt around under carpets and around the arches from the inside. ;)

Even though they're not rust-proofed SA's not exactly known for it's humidity so I wouldn't expect the kind of rust you see on a lot of UK cars. As long as it's actually been in SA the whole time! Jury's out if it's been in the UK for the last 20 years...lol

I think that was only the SA Evo2 325is that had ally panels, along with a BMW built 2.7 similar to the Alpina 2.7s. I might be wrong though.
Not in E30s any more :(

The evo 2 had alpina built engines imported in from Alpina, already built up on a service exhange basis

The engine is a 3.2 @ 3205cc, NOT a 3.3 and its not the M30B32 used in the E12 based E24 6 series, its the later 3.2 used in the E23 732i

The engine uses some Alpina parts, mainly for instalation, that were used in the pre '87 not kat Alpina B6 3.5 model such as the sump, engine mounts, radiator, inlet manifold and some injection system components. The head and block were standard M30B32 as far as know.
Other alpina components include the 16x7 alloys wheels (with BMW roundels instead of Alpina ones) and the digital VDO gauge in the centre heater vent.

They are not an Alpina model as such, they just used some components from Alpina.

BMW SA developed the 333i to go saloon car racing as the E30 M3 was not available in SA and the 333i wasn't the first car unique to SA the BMW Motorsport SA developed.

They were only available in four colours, Black, Ice white, Aero silver (slightly blue) and henna red.

Most came with black leather and you had the choice of power steering or Air con.

The 333i is a rare car in SA and only a handfull have made it over here. Ones that i am aware of are a henna red one featured in Total BMW magazine about 9 years ago, an aero silver one with a turbo conversion that was featured in BMWCar magazine in '96 and another aero silver one that was for sale three years ago on the BMW car clubs website. I tried to buy that car but appart from once, i could not get in contact with the seller despite numerous attempts to contact them via phone and email!

Your car could well be that one!

As for value, well that dependes on its condition, if it has all of its 333i features and how much history there is with the car.

Here's some pics of other 333i's.

Barry I hope your Alpina catalogues are in PDF format, imagine having to type that lot out, rather than cut and paste. :P

How tall was the third assembly worker in row 2 at the Alpina factory in 1982?

Nice car by the way - get it striped!

ANY IDEA WHAT THESE ARE WORTH THANKS
about 2 grand at a PUSH! with no tax or test

T&T and a few hours polish and waxing it then it may be double that

what are inner arches/outer arches like?

Sills? Floor pan? Roof? Sunroof tray? Scuttle? Bulkhead?

Thats just what i would value it at, i cant give an exact price as there are never any for sale over here

if it was uber mint and has pictures of every rust area ect it could be worth more

i would think a true minter with low mileage would be worth 8-10 bags

again just what i think
