my roof still....

ive got a 318i convertible with an electric hood,went out 1nite with it down and when i came back it wudnt go back up...anyway i ordered a new switch from bmw plugged it in and nothing. i tested the switch and it seems fine so i tested the old 1 and so woz that...however if i short out the bottom 2connections it puts the roof down and if the bottom and top right it goes back up again...its really starting 2annoy me now...i wondered if it cud b a loose earth but cant see any and all the wires seem intact, so really just cant think of anything else 2try...

i wondered bout that but cant see any and dont see y it wud work if i just short out the switch...does any1 know if theres a security style switch on the boot lid???
