The missus has a 98 318is and on Sunday night the remote decided not to switch the alarm on or off or unlock the central locking after parking up for only about 10 mins. Managed to silence the siren and get the car home but the hazards were going off all the way back. Police pulled her in on the A1 too :D

I've checked all the fuses and changed the battery in the remote but it still isn't right, but she's now said she pressed the wrong button on the remote twice in succession.

E36coupe think that she has 'unregistered' the remote but no-one's replied how to reregister it.

Don't suppose anyone on here knows?

Thanks,

Mick

Not sure if this is sound procedure Mick, but I'd feel the urge to disconnect the battery for half an hour or so and see if stuff resets itself......... albeit that might make matters worse, but I can't see how.

Thanks Mike - I tried that without success. I'm sure the fob is registered by pressing the buttons in a certain sequence while the ignition is on - just can't remember.
