Mine used to do that.
But it would sit on red for 100 miles before the light would come on.
Just wait for the light 8)

mine takes ages for the light to come on

i haven't even dared let it get that low TBH, i though it should have been on before now, i'll fill up just to be sure

as 3.5 litres according ot the OBC lasts forever.

Depends how you're driving to be fair.

I've just managed to do 250+ miles on Ԛ£30 in mine, but they've all been at least 15mile journeys on A roads without much stopping and only a little town driving.

I've noticed that the fuel gauge can wander about quite a bit over a period of 15 minutes. Only real way is to brim it, drive it and then rebrim it and see how much fuel you used for so many miles.

i put 40 pounds in my 320 in one go.....and it lasts me 2 weeks, i get about 325+ out of a tank...simply because i dont give my car a hard time. gear changes at 3,000rpm make it last!!!

i was going to the beach the other day and i ahd just got out of where i live and the engine oil light came on.. of course i paniced and went to the nearest garage and bought some castrol 15/40 engine oil for engines that have done over 75,000 miles. after i had topped it up the o.b.c went through the roof saying i had 400+miles to go before i needed to fill up. and fuel economy if magnificent! i cant understand it, it must lubricate the engine better?

The IS is great on fuel ! mine always used to average 37mpg. 40+ on a run....

The fuel gauges do wander about a bit, the only true way to tell the economy is to fill the tank to the brim every-time, that's what i do. Then my misses nicks the car and uses it for work, and it comes home empty

It might be worth taking the instrument cluster out and checking the 'nuts' on the back of the temp and fuel gauges, as these always work loose and give dodgy readings.

Best i ever managed out of one tank was 420miles, very sedate driving!
