Lads see number 5 in the link below the clamps that snap on to the sideskirts to hold them on to the car.

Do i need to drill holes on to the car to get these clamps to fit.?.

I'm pretty sure you do. I was going over the installation for the e28 one today and you have to drill for it. You also have to get the diameters exactly right or it'll all go a bit pete tong. You drill 8mm holes then open them to 9mm with a hand drill...

Here's the E28 one. I imagine it'll be more or less the same idea. :)

Ooops, just looked at the link. I thought you were talking about the clips along the length of the sill. I think you maybe drill for that one too. It's all in the guide anyway..

I've just removed a full tech 2 kit and can't work out what one number 5 is?? The side pods all fit using the holes from the original bumpstrips, it's bracket number 20 that need holes drilling. There are 16 of these brackets each needing 2 holes drilling.

I have a feeling these are why you can buy a drilling template from bmw to fit the kit.

Number 21 is the clamps that hold the bottom of the sideskirt to the underneath of the car,Now number 5 is what holds the sideskirt tight to the body when you pull back the sideskirt it snaps away from the number 5 clip in the link.

All these fecking clips would drive you mad. :x

There are also 16 of the number 20 that clip the lower skirt tight to the actual sill aswell just below where the doors shut. If need be I can go and take photo's of the holes and the clips I removed.

Do you have any of the number 20 clip for your kit?

I'm going to be fitting more door tech 2 in the near furture and I'm not looking forward to it, did you get the drilling template from BMW?
