E46 style but I don;t think they;re legit - only because you wouldn't cover an Alpina badge with a BMW one?

Thinking about it, nobody would/does make a replica of that particular E46 wheel.

Get the cap off and have a look inside.

I can see a tyre valve!

There are reps of these wheels as a shockingly council E38 740i came into my work with a set of 18" ones on. It also had and electic turbo thingy and fake 4 pot Brembo caliper covers!

Offset looks ok too...

Just had wheels collected by a mate who will be home in a couple of hours.
He just said on the phone that all rims looks tidy and all tyres look good.Asked him if the valves are on show or hidden behind the cap and he didnt notice.
I am now awaiting a text saying REAL or FAKE :?

Fingers crossed eh!

On the genuine ones, the centre badge swivels out to reveal a lock which needs a key just like the E30 Alpina wheels.

FAKE!
Cant win em all I suppose
Clean rims though with good tyres so still worthy of the £175 sale price.
Cant be any worse than the things that are on my car currently though so anything is a bonus!

shame they aren't genuine but seeing a set of wheels in that size with decent tyres for that price isnt exactly the end of the world. And as you say, better than what you have already got!

What a fooking cnut!

Friend collected the wheels for me last night about half on his way back from London.
Gave them a quick once over and handed over my money.
Called me 10 mins later to say he got them.
Explained they are filthy and covered in mud but tyre depth looks good and no major signs of much curbing.
Cool I thought, pick them up tomorrow and get them on the car!

Fast forward to today.
Meets up with my mate to get the wheels out of his van.......fooking gutted!
First impression in daylight was not great BUT they were thick with dried mud so difficult to see what was under it all.
Got the wheels home and gave them a quick wash over
Well and truly fooked!
3 of the rims have totally corroed on the inside and I mean badly.
The only one that hasnt has a nasty kerb knock.
Two of the tyres have huge pieces of the kerb protectors missing and the other two have been caught on a kerb and gouged into the rubber making them flap about!
Total out and out cnut.
Phoned the seller and told him what I just found.
His response was tough, you saw the pics blah blah.
He said that non of the tyres have any chunks missing and that the wheels arent corroded at all.
I then said that im obviously 200 miles away so returning them would be difficult.
He then said that if I take the wheels to him he will look at them but I bought as seen blah blah.
I then suggested he refund me atleast part of the £175 money and ill take the rest on the chin.
Oh no no no no was his reply.
He then went on again about bought as seen bullshit which just got me vexxed with the cnut.
Ended up telling him what he was and that ill try and go through Ebay.
I have now opened a dispute through Ebay with the dickhead but he is still sticking to his guns and as I didnt pay by paypal aint shit going to get done anyway!
What a fooking twat.
Ok I could get a courier to collect them and send them back but after his attitude so far am I going to see anything in return?I very much doubt it and as im already out of pocket for over 200 quid dont want to keep throwing money out the window!
Why the fooking hell did I bother with the cnut.
Oh how I wish I lived closer to the pr1ck because id throw the fooking things through his window.

Lesson well and fooking truly learnt :x

Bloke is an out and out coont and I wont be letting it drop!

That is a bummer. Ebay has alot to answer for... I suppose it would have been different if you collected them yourself and after seeing them you could have walked away, i suppose it got a bit complicated with your mate collecting them, even though he was doing you a favour he probably wasn't clued up or knew what he was looking for and just handed the cash over = deal done

that is the exact reason that if i buy ANYTHING off ebay & i can't get to view it first i allways use paypal.

like was said earlier there are some proper scumbags on ebay trying to flog any old shite.
like you said your best bet is to scrap 3 of the wheels & wrap the forth round his head.

name & shame the seller on here so we can all stay away.
gutted for you fella.

You're right. Complete scrap!

I'd borrow the cheapest diesel you can find and drive the 200 miles and deliver them straight to his back passage. :x What will it cost you. A tank of diesel?

Wrong about PayPal.

They will inly cover you if for items not arriving at all or items totally damaged - like if the wheels arrived snapped in half etc. You would never have gotten anything out of them for that.

Go round his house - it's not about the money anymore.

dont even talk to me about Paypal.. there a bunch of c0cks

example 1 My mates buys a phone advertised as spares or repair.. phone turns up and turns out to be a dummy phone.. IE no insides only a lump of metal to give it a bit of weight.. my mate then opens a dispute with paypal as not as described IE a dummy phone that no spares can be taken from.. paypal take the sellers side and states its sold as is a faulty phone as spares or repair.. he lost his cash..

example 2

I have a Sony vaio laptop that died on me.. I remove the hard drive and advertise it as spares or repair fault unknown.... boy wins it then receives the laptop then opens a dispute as item not as described.. I tell paypal it was sold as is IE spares or repair!!! non working fault not known.. paypal takes the buyers side and gives him a complete refund as he stated the motherboard was fried and he cant repair it..and he cant use it as spares. boy then goes back to paypal and asks for half his money back as he may be able to use spares from it.. paypal decided in his favour..

200 miles in a cheap diesel'll cost you £20-£30 tops, if you're really that pissed over it mate I'd go for it, that wanker shouldn't be allowed to flog shit wheels like that.

My advice is wipe your mouth and move on. If your like me a 200 mile trip you shouldn't be making, waisting a day will wind you right up.
You get to this coonts house and get the 'sold as seen bullsh1t' I would not be able to help myself from straightening him right out.

Who will that help? Not you! Your still out of pocket and a tug for half killing a pr1ck over a few quid.

Stick them in with your next load of scrap. Hopfully what goes around comes around.

Just say fook it. Don't bother with the arsehole. Ebays crap because it lets twats like him sell shite too easily.

Take those tyres off, buy some sand paper, primer, paint and laquer and have a go at spraying up some alloys. It'll at least get rid of that horrible chome looking finish...!
