E30 Touring years?

I have already owned one E30 touring, but im by no means an expert on E30's. I have researched and researched but with no luck I cant seem to find one simple question. My question is, "In what year was the first E30 touring produced?" Im hoping some of you can chime in and give me some useful knowledge.

The first touring was on an E plate so as Brian says 1987

Thanks for the knowledge. I was looking at one for sale but he said its an 86 and I didnt think they were produced then. Much appreciated!
