Hi everybody!
Back from summer vacations!
OK, lets do some business! I ve bought for some time now and just painted the full M technic 2 body kit for my cabrio e30. I really want to do the installation by myself, i really enjoy spending time on my car. I have bought one by one all the clips i am gonna need for that job! From what i ve seen, things are quite simple and easy for the most of the parts. The one that seems difficult is the front spoiler, under the bumper. The under part clips right there where the black plastic lip it originally has, clips. But the upper part? I am not sure...
So, does anybody ever installed this? Or maybe, is there a site or maybe somewhere i can find installations info??
Thank you!

Thanks man,
I allready have done the search and found the thread u showed me, but this one refers to modifying a pre-88 model to a face lift bumper in order to install the spoiler. That is not my case... I have a '92 model, it fits theoritically correctly, i just dont know how!

aha
u can get hold of a drilling template so ive heard, but this is bound to be costly
then there is the ono method which would involve lots of masking tape, a ruler or 2, an extra pair of hands, a 6 pack and 20 benson

I just done it. Drilling template 15 qud form germany. I didnt use one, but it took me a long time. Still i got there in the end spot on, so its not necessary for the templete! Get some new clips, and remember push the clips in the holes, THEN fit the upper bumper, THEN the lower valance, and THEN push it on to the clips from the front! Took me a while to work out, so just saving you some time! You can only do it in that order!!
Let us know how it goes!

GUYS!! THANKS A LOT!!!
I do have the clips, t thought i would have to drill but i didnt want to start making holes on my car without being sure!!! It seems i should get this template (i understand this is like a guide where to make the wholes). To make a wild guess, is this template this long part i see on the front spoiler's diagram on the ETK (shown right above the spoiler) that doesn't have a part number??? Or am i just saying crap? So, how do i get it? (A1BMW325iSport, thanks for ur offer mate, but i am far away, Athens, Greece) From a BMW dealer or maybe from an e-shop? Where did you get it? I dont wanna risk any mistakes on the drilling... Thanks!
ps. simon13> what do u mean the fatter one for the cabrios? havent found any difference in th ETK, in the part numbers from coupes to cabrios... the body kit i have is from 320is 2door.

the skirts need two holes each side for the front to be held on, and holes at the ends for holding to wheel arches. (they can be hard to get a dril into, you will need the wheels off for sure) I didnt use a template because its easy to line up, because it can only sit correctly in one place! Check out the link for a pic below (in my signature) for my kit i have just fitted using no templates, its fairly straght forward!

the spoiler back, on the hood... you need a template for that too, right?
sorry, guys, when you say "quids", what monetary unit is that??? (i feel dumm...
Is this set of templates a BMW original part? Can you find it in the ETK? Haven't seen anything like it in the ETK, that's why i am asking...
I think i am going crazy here... and i am driving you crazy as well!

No worries, not at all! Yes they are a genuine part, but im told by dealer they have to be ordered from germany (but dealer does that free!) Yes the boot does need drilling, but mine had a lip spoiler and it uses the same holes. (i think the boot can be hard and have benn told a template doesnt exist for it, so best buy one with the holes already in it
) Quid = pound !
Thanks for compliment on my car. (i just put it in the gallary for first time, only had it a month!!!)

ok, this is crazy!
nobody in greece knows about these templates...!!!!
I have asked so far 3 BMW dealers and they dont f*cking know about it! They calculate by eye!
It seems i ll have to do the same...
Unless... could you communicate with your dealers and ask for part numbers? My last resort...

U WERE RIGHT!!!! and i feel so stupid!!! should have paid more attention to what u said... I 've done the rear spoiler, i 've done the front (without drilling template - not that dificult after all) but i cant do the sides! Don't have the right skirts... it seems i need taller skirts... i guess this is what u mean by "fatter"... just great!!
when i get them (probably new from BMW dealer - where to find used ones for cab?) do i need to drill at the side of the car for these too? The car allready has some holes at the side because tha cab had an extra trim under the door. The clips fit there or i drill?

Saloon side skirts can be modded to fit cabriolets, never don it so can' tell you what's involved.
Drilling jigs as follows
Side skirts
l/h 51.71.2.239.845
r/h 51.71.2.239.846
Front wing pods
l/h 51.71.2.239.843
r/h 51.71.2.239.844
All the templates are listed for 2 / 4 door saloons and touring not cab, but i can't see why they will not work for you.
There is a template for the fitting of the rear bumper, but as yours is a cab i guess its a chrome bumper model? if so the rear valence is completely different and the jig won't fit anyway...

I have the plastic bumpers, '92 model, one of the last e30's...
modify the salloon sideskirts for cabs?? How can that be? The floor proved to be taller (wider) at the side. How taller? About 2cm, just as the extra trim is. Cant think of any way to do that...
I checked the ETK and saw the codes for drilling u said. Surprisingly, it gives drilling jigs only for saloon/coupe models and not for cabs!!!! Isn't this weird?
