Right, im getting totally confussed on this sunject, i just cant get a straight answer from anyone on this...

I have got a 1987 325i, its is stripped and will be used on the track with a bit of road use (but mainly a track car).

It has lowered springs and standard shocks on it at the moment. The back end sits high but the front is OK.

Ideally it would be a set of GAZ coilovers but i have other projects, this is a bit of fun so i dont want to spend out loads yet, i may do in the future but thats a few years away...

So what is involved on the DIY coilovers??

What spring rate do i want front and rear? Im guessing i want a stiff ride

Any recomendations on cheaper setups? Im no pro on the track and am after more fun than seriousness....

Cheers

You would probably be better off spending the money on a decent suspension kit (non coilover). Get some matched springs and shocks, with some good ARBs and go have some fun.

Cheap coilover kits are cheap for a reason.

yeah thats what im thinking but what suspension kit? I cant just get a lowering kit as the front will be alot lower than the rear.

Im thinking of getting a set of bilstein B8's for the rear, are these good enough or are they just slightly better OE equivelant shocks??

Also wheres best for the springs? Cant get road springs due to the lack of weight in the rear...

you won't get any straight answer even if you start the second thread on the same subject just ONE day later!

Use the search function and you will find loads of answers, pictures etc.

I have tried using the search function and im still not getting any straight answers. The reason i started a new thread was to stop any confussion on what im after.

Im gonna have to make a few guesses i feel here, hopefully it will be ok...
