Taxi drivers are the biggest crooks out there when it comes to paying tax.

Every taxi driver I have ever acted for after a motor accident who wants to claim loss of earnings cries like a baby when I tell them we have to use their accounts/ tax returns to calculate their loss of earnings.

They all use accountants to put their annual figures together, working with cash all day long there is a rather vast difference between what they earn and what gets delcared. Pretty much every taxi driver I have come across in this situation has an annual income of about £10K as far as the tax man is concerned.

Try Keith Michaels Insurance Lee. You need to speak to a chap called Jeremy Pocock.

Tel 08456185306.

Tell him about the jap metal. He was the cheapest for my GTB and they also specialize in the modded stuff.

Have you a m.o.t. ?

Scott.

A sort of related question... my 316i m50 is in my name in the log book. Am i able to get my dad to insure it in his name (despite my name being on the v5) so it can get mot'd, while i get a few things sorted on my iS before cancelling the policy on the iS and cancelling my dads policy and doing my own one?

Right been on the phone to Adrian flux this morning:

TPFT: £1,169 including a £200 excess, personal accident cover, key cover and like for like cover with car club discount.

Brentacre: £1,395 TPFT, with a £350 excess, and feck all else. They wont match flux's quote.

Thats with me being 21 (next wednesday :? ), policy starting on the wednesday with 3 years ncb and mods declared.

Im happy with £1,169 tbh  you can tell im used to expensive quotes

How much are you paying? M50 also?

It's a shame Direct Line won't insure under 25's as they are quite cheap, i got quoted £750 for a 2.5 and £1100 for a E34 535 (M30) :)

E30BeemerLad wrote:you can't share NCD from another car, if anyone has done this with their own insurance they need to speak with their insurers as you'll get well & truly stiffed if a claim arises and they ask for proof of NCD.

If you have NCD on another vehicle then it stays with that vehicle/policy. All I can do is tell them what a good boy I've been with my 10 years NCD on the Soarer, it is then at their discretion how much introductory discount they give me.

When I sell the soarer and cancel the cover on that, I could then move my NCD across to the touring
Not trying to teach my granny how to suck eggs, I know you have a fair bit of knowledge on the insurance subject, but in my experience they will often take into account NCD held on another policy while not 'transferring' it as such. In some cases, in the second year the NCD will have effectively duplicated and can be 'proven' at a later date. There is also much to be said for crying dumb in some instances - not with regard to cover, but with regard to price negotiation. For example, answering the question 'do you have any No Claims?' with 'I haven't claimed for x years' can drive a sleepy salesman down a blind alley from which he has no reasonable return, taking his price with him. In this scenario, you haven't intentionally deceived him, but you may have put yourself inadvertently in a stronger price negotiation position. Once the cover is set, the price of the premium is just a consumer argument, not an insurance one as such.

Anyone noticed there modified cover go up?
I know mine is not a 24v conversion just a 2.7 conversion with mods but..........

My renewal from Performace Direct just came through at £300 more than last year, was £550 Fully Comp and pretected, they say its because one of there main companys has been taken over.

Tryed HIC and Heritige, HIC came in at £1400 and Heritage wouldnt touch it, tyed Sky but still waiting to hear back.

Im 33, have no convictions in the last 10 years, 7 years no claims and its my second car and want limited millage and agreed value.

Dont know wtf's going on, not sure if its the list of mods, 2.7, Alpina wheels/spoilers and standalone etc or not, been told insurance is going up but a £300 hike is taking pi$$!

Can anyone shed some light?

Adrian Flux =£700 all mods declared. (S50 Conversion)

I think that's very expensive, it was only £400 to insure the E36 M3 Evo when I was driving that.

I'm 27 with 6 years NCB, no points convictions or anything, ever. :(

Tried Performance Direct and they've said they'll call me tomorrow with a quote.

Brentacre next I suppose. :?
Anyone who knows of an S50 B32/B30 E30 for sale, please let me know.
