Hi guys my central locking has been playing up and now the damn thing won't lock! The car has got an alarm on it and it used to lock from the fob but then it stopped allowing me to do so. After this i was locking the car with the key but then the locks were going up and down of their own accord and now they don't move at all when i put the key in the lock any ideas? Thanks.

Sounds like the ECU is fubared.
It's located in the driver side footwell behind the speaker grill, take out the speaker, and you'll see it below the speaker.
2 posiscrews to take out, lift the bracket up and take alook at it.
If its wet, you sill drains are blocked, and the ecu has had it.

Have you tried all the doors or is it just one??

The locks are very old you just need to keep trying and they do get jammed try a bit of wd40 or some greese should do the trick the chances are once you have un jammed it, it;ll all start to work

Have a read of my thread if you like it may help you!

It's nothing to do with the locks 'being old' (whatever that means). Some of you just don't realise what the three letters BMW mean!
Your car gave you fair warning, you chose to ignore it, and now the locking ECU has probably fried the lock motors, as it tends to do if it's flooded.
If the motors are fried, they won't move, and you won't be able to move the lock buttons.
Take the door cards off, unscrew the two self tapping screws that hold the motors in place, unhook and remove them.
