Power steering is being a pain. I dont find it particulaly hard to turn but when I do while driving along, the wheel doesn't re-center on its own like it should just stays put at the angle i turned to, and jsut feels generally stiff. Is this a rack or a pump issue and hwo easy are each to change??

Thanks :)

Last time I came across an E30 like this I thought it was one of the strut top bearings, but it turned out to be one of the outer control arm ball joints that had seized.
Get the front wheels of the ground and disconnect the track rod ends from the struts .
