Some people even PM you links and help and advice too without even asking for it.

I don't think you ever stop learning, you'll post something you thought was correct only to have Pete correct you.

My mechanics bills would have been enormous if it weren't for the zone. This place had helped me return my car to factory condition mechanicals-wise after being aquired as a complete basket case, all thanks to the patience with which the experts have let me pick their brains.

This place is an absolute goldmine.

I had to get some parts for a Mitsubishi a while ago. It was a nightmare.

I had no RealOEM and no Zone to ask questions.

The parts dept would barely sell me anything because I couldnt give them a VIN or reg no.

Typical conversation from other customers was

Customer 'This is the wrong part'
Assistant 'Do you want me to reorder it?'
Customer 'Can you get the right part?'
Assistant 'All I can do is give them the code number from the screen'
Customer 'But that number is for this part and its wrong'
Asistant 'Do you want me to reorder it?'

That's one of the reasons I don't use dealers cos unless you go in with the part number you have found through realoem they haven't got a clue.

And me. I came here looking for an E30 but, mumble mumble, bought an E28 in the end instead. To be fair though, it's a bit of a project and I'd never have dreamt of taking something like it on before I'd seen all those exciting restoration threads on here and learned enough that I'd consider it possible. So it's all e30zone's fault that I'm going to be broke for the next 5 years...

It's still easily the best BMW site I know and you can learn a lot from the nice people here! :)

The Zone has saved my E30 from the scrappy - can it get any better than that?!

Ditto for everything said above. Moreover, if it wasn't for 'the zone' I wouldn't have found Sweep who looks after my car like it was his own.

Long may it continue. :D

I absolutely depend on it as doing the job I do, I really don't have the time to spend with my head under the bonnet, despite the fact there is nothing I would love more. One day perhaps......

I too am happy to stick my tongue up the zone's arse. From total novice to engine swapper extrodinaire* in just 6 months, all credit to the zone.

The E30 is a good car, but for me, the support of the zone makes it a great car. How many other cars are there where you can get advice on a problem, get the info needed to sort the problem, get the parts to fix the problem and sell the bit's left over all in one place? There's also the diversity, there aren't many cars where you get drifters, petrol head turbo nutter bastards, bangernomics experts, crazy styling modifiers and full restoration OEM homos all in one place.

If you've got a question about E30's, you'll find the answer here. Unless you're me, and no-one answers your questions about why your car is overfuelling. :?

I'm off to tech help, maybe someone will answer this time :D

*Yeah, it was the easiest swap going, but it's funny when you tell people who know you what you've done and they say "You swapped the engine?" in an incredulous voice.

Just because we can start at 8:50....finish at 3:05 every day....never have to work weekends....get 13 (yes, that's thirteen) weeks holiday per year....does not necessarily mean that we have any spare time. LOL!
