Something that i keep thinking about

People dont bother with the m52b25 since its 150bhp, but combine it with an m50 inlet and a remap surely it should give good power gains???

according to this site

http://www.bmconversions.co.uk/home/m50 ... tails.html
The swap combined with a decent remap and installation of a cold air intake and less restricted exhaust should bring your 328i to the region of 230BHP and 323i to over 200BHP(depending on the condition of your engine).
If the above statment is correct then surely you can get an m52b25 to produce more power than a standard m50b25??

Just wonderd what veiws people have on this?? as the engines may be easier to get hold of and cheaper ?

it would also be lighter winkeye

:)

Gains to be had, but B28 torque will always win :)

Standard M52/b25 is 170bhp, M50 inlet and your at M50/b25 power

probably being lighter is an advantage

The M52 management is also much better meaning it will respond to mods better than the M50 will.

Ive got a mint 323i short engine BTW

Yup. Got my mum to phone up on my behalf because i was at work. Told them about fitting the EWS which they said they can't really give any discount becuase i'll be fitting it and not a garage. The insurance company said that it won't change the premium and if it does it will be a negligible amount. I'll only have to pay the small admin fee :D
