hi,
have a problem with my m50 engine,
worked fine earlier in the week but just got the exhaust sorted yesterday and now it wont start. got no fuel or spark.
I've checked the wiring with various diagrams and no joy.
does anyone have any ideas?

No fuel or spark. Electrial issue.
Get the circuit tester out. Start with fuses.

Dead DME relay? can blow if the ECU and battery are still connected and you weld on the car, would seem to fit, I assume some fabrication was required to match the pipes e36 to e30
Could kill the FETs in the ECU too
check all the basics first dude, double check the engine earth strap is still connected too, had a few dragged into work of late with rotted out engine grounds and again similar syptoms to you've described
