Radiator suggestions for s50 swap

Thanks to all who replied to my last topics, your info has been spot on and saved me alot of head banging

so on to my next question.
I am nearly ready to start my conversion but havnt thought about the radiator
What have you guys fitted to yours and what has turned out to be the better choice. Pro's and cons.

Use the S50 rad. It fits and keeps it cool (or at least as cool as its going to get).

most people have gone for the e36 m3 rad. fits a treat

Do you know if there is much front panel mod requied or can i fit the rad once the engine is in?

No mods needed to the front panel and you can fit the rad with the engine in place.

E28 535 radiator is also straight bolt-on and it's core-area & volume are realistically the same as in E36 M3 radiator. Though E28 rad doesn't have expansion tank in it (does the E36 M3 one have?)

Just to tell you that if one comes by cheaper than M3 radiator it could be also good buy ;)

because i have two here...with the oil coolers already mounted on the bottom.

i went with e36 m3 rad goes straight in place, oil cooler mounts straight to the bottom and take the blanking cap out and use a fan temp switch to run an electric fan, (i dont know if the e28 rad has a blanking cap ?)

The cooler may mount to the bottom of the radiator, but it will get virtually zero airflow through it in that location.

good point ian i forgot i cut the section out and rewelded a thinner bar in a slightly different position

Looks nice and neat mate Did you scrap the viscous fan completly or run it along side the electric fan?

Ive used the e36 m3 rad and a 14' elec fan, along with an 80/88 cel temp sensor from a 1.9 e36 deleted the Viscous fan altogether, also modified the bottom of the metal valance to alooow airflow to the oil cooler,
