Im thinkinh of doing one if these conversions.
Have been doing some homework but still not sure which engine to use 50 or 52. It would be 2.5 not 2.8
Anyone have and good and bad points on everyday use and easy of a numpty(but got some help from friendly local zoners.) fitting these engines.

peter, regarding which engine maybe its better to get a good donor and take it from there.
if you wait a few months you can have a seat in both an m50 and m52 conversion as me and gary are doing one of each.

Is there any reason why you want to keep things 2.5L?Sanchez wrote:Im thinkinh of doing one if these conversions.

not to overcomplicate things, daily driver so MPG low and resonably low insurance.
I could go 2.8, theres a e36 328i for sale near me with dodgy body work at £600
thers also a £300 e34 touring 2.5 but I think its a M20 on a Kplate
