Just wondering has anyone who removed their heater matrix installed a small electric heater?

if so where from?

heard mini heaters being mentioned but a quick search hasn't revealed much.

thanks,

Ross

Cab rear screen heaters can be used for demisting, id rather keep the matrix though TBH

its on a dedicated hill climb/rally car so its not something i really need. going to try and get a heated screen now, if not i guess ill just have to put the matrix back in.

Another good thing about a matrix is it can help cool the engine in an emergency

Loom is here 8)

yeah, i have weighed that one up too. all it takes is one brush with a bank on the rally and it could put me out the game with no back up.

If all you are concerned about is windshield demisting, here's the neat trick we discovered for our E36 racecars... use the small electric rear window demister from the E30 convertible. It's about 12" x 8" x 2", hot air blows out the narro end, easily fits against the firewall pointed straight up through the original demister vents. Works great. Check your local breaker.
