Mark, we hope you stay with us on the Zone. If you did leave, you'd miss out on chatting to some incredibly knowledgeable people who frequent the forum. Some work on these cars professionally; some have restored cars to an astonishing degree of completion; some are essentially walking encyclopaedias of BMW information; and some are amazing examples of the enthusiast "all-rounder", tackling everything imaginable on these cars. We're far from perfect, certainly, but we are still a bloody good forum! I say stick with us.

Besides...I look looking at the pics. :)

Hi Mark
I'm really surprised you lasted this long on the zone and i won't be surprised if you left, to be honest i don't have time for people like that, but unfortunately there's people like that everywhere in life,
As a self confessed petrol head i would love to see your collection as i'm sure there's many on here that would, generally the zone is a great place and all this surprises me, some people really need to get a life,

Can't we just enjoy these cars!!

There's always the minority that have to try and ruin it for the multitude.
Presumably they have no life, no interests, and nothing to do in life but sit on their arse upsetting anyone they can - when they're not in the queue to collect their dole cheque.
Why I go to work and pay my taxes to keep these lowlifes in Broadband and drugs, I really don't know...

Yeah, maybe, but at least you had the sense to see the error of your ways and pull yourself up.
You now have a job, a college course, a nice car, and you've a pleasant personality to go with it - despite the pain you're in with your back...

The clip wasn't meant to be vicious, just a bit of a harmless pisstake and I hope it's taken in that manner. I did post up a 'bullshit' comment quite a while back, merely because there have been so many bullshit artists with 'look what I've found' fables. You become a bit blase to these stories after a while, especially from the known serial liars.

If it were me, I'd be selling one of the Sport Evos to a collector in Germany/Holland/wherever for 100 grand and effectively get the other one for free. However, a matching pair does have an appeal! What a pity one of them wasn't Jet Black...

Bonkers has a reputation to maintain and a business to uphold.

The Zone has been asked to remove the comments due to the irrelevance to the thread.
Although Libel has not been mentioned, I suspect Bonkers could put a case together.

As you yourself have said Mr Dink, the story has been dealt with, we've all moved on...
So why get upset about a few posts being removed?

Can we PLEASE get this thread back on topic? Although I suspect Bonkers has already been driven away by the lovely welcome he was given - first the doubters slagging him off, then the unpleasant allegations.

Well done to those few Zoners whos jealousy, small-mindedness and rudeness have given a new member a wonderful insight into how we treat people on here.

Libel? Over information he admitted is true and freely available on the internet?! :?

Many people have a mispent youth, the situation was explained, jobbed jobbed

Fair enough that he asked it be removed though imo

Anyone know what Bonkers business is? Seems like an interesting chap. Obviously collecting cars isnt his business as it doesnt generate any income? Does he buy and sell? £40m is a lot of dosh to turnover?

Thanks

I suppose I don't have to, but I thought I'd let the OP know that news of his purchase has reached the Spanish forums too.

This was not instigated by me, but I have supplied them with a summary of the situation and some photos after having read some mis-information and questions which you yourself have answered on here.

I hope you don't mind

I guess 50k is on the low side. A really nice 50'000 mile example is worth £30-35k these days. I wish I'd kept mine now! :D

Alright alright just calm down now they are just cars and we all do live in the same world so let;s keep our heads shall we.
So,

2 x M3's, 'a lot more than £50k each' + rs200 + mercedes cosworth = 1/2 million????

Rr, do you live in that sort of world??

Had an email from the BMW technical centre in NJ, USA this morning asking if I knew anything about these cars as they were all so jealous!

Congratulations on your purchases a very good find!
Let me know if you decide to add a McLaren to the collection, sure I could find one to match your high standards 8)
