M62, gearbox swap. automat to manual

I`m new here. This is great forum, I realy like it

I have E30 and originally was inside engine M20B25.

Now I want to replace the engine instead of the M62.
I wanna buy a E39 with this engine ( 4.4l ) in UK, but I have "one" problem with change the gearbox, because UK version of these cars have only automatic gearbox. I can buy manual gearbox separate, thats no problem. But I have electrical problem. What i need to do, if I want to use manual gearbox? I heard, it is sufficient to use relay and connect a few cables.
Can someone help me?

Electrically it's no big deal. You just need to make few connections, all the wires & connections can be found on WDS (wiring diagram system). Those can be found online from many places.

Which gearbox's are you guys using? E39 540 manual? E39 M5? Are they identical?

I have some Finnish friends I've visited Joensuu Tampere etc, you have the best roads there.

I have a rare engine M62B44 but from a Bentley Arnage - 4.4l V8 Twin Turbo- 570Nm!

And yes it has to fit in my E30.. can these gearboxes take this torque???

Hey, thanks Our roads are quite good for "spirited driving" in the summer, just can't wait to get to drive my cabrio

All V8 6-speed boxes are using S6S 420G gearbox / internals. E39 M5 has little bit longer first gear, otherwise it's identical t0 E39 540 'box. E34 540 'box is the same also.

Oh man, that is one hell of a piece of machinery Do you have any more pictures of it, especially exhaust manifolds and intake?

That is going to be really tight fit to E30 'bay, good luck!

E39 M5 has 400hp / 500Nm as standard so the gearbox will be just fine. Though i'd use uprated clutch with one-mass flywheel (for example sachs racing has good clutches available).
