This cannot continue due to very high costs. Thank you to every one involved forr your help and input.

I have emailed Quaife about doing a quick rack for the E30. They don't currently do one but have expressed interest if there is interest from us.

They can only manufacture manual racks so you'd need to source a manual one to fit it to. From others I've seen they'll be in the region of £100 each. They can make it any ratio we require so if we can come to a decision on what ratio would be best that'd be good, I presume something like 2.5/2:1?

The catch is I need a certain amount of interest/orders before anything goes ahead so if you'd be interested please put your name down.

It'll be the same as the PAS rack about 4.5 iirc or something chronic?

I've just fitted a manual rack to what was a pas car.

When you say fit it to a manual rack is this somthing that anyone can do or would a garage need to add on the quick rack to the manual rack?

I'd want a pretty quick one 2.5 lock to lock :)

I'd be interested in this for £100. I can see manual racks getting snapped up quickly on here and Ebay now though!

Edit: I assume it would still fit if I were to go 5-stud using E36 M3 Evo parts?

The rack kit will be about £100 you still need rebuild a donor rack with requires some 8 sided box spanners (I had to get one made)

They email I had today indicates almost 20 although if we can get something close then hopefuly we can sort something.

Jason, whats the difference between the pre and post facelift racks?

Jhonno, I'll ask if the racks can be made either way.

Hi I tried to do a group buy a few years ago so looked into this in detail early cars have a round rack bar which means quaife can cut the teeth, later racks are triangular so you cannot get the teeth cut.

Ok just read the original post again. Doh.

I would prefer something close to a 2.1 but would be happy enough with a 2.5

Well Ture BMW can make them but Titan, Quaife and a few others at the time did not have the gear to cut teeth to suit the later racks.
