I would love to do this, but I don't know if you'll get 16 people to do it in E30s. But here's hoping......

Well there seem's to be a lot of new DRIFTERS on here so i will see how many give feed back. Now if we dont get enough E30 zoner drifters i will extend the invite to the E36 owner and maybe a few other but the aim is keeping it BMW.
We have a choice of several venues to chose from and depending on there availabilty and priceing will be dependent on attandence, the more people that turn up the cheaper the price per drifter will be, As for dates
how about early next year so i can organise this properly

It will be a comp but as i said its really down to how many peps i can get.
i.e 16 plus and thats just to break even. As for when and where as i said its down to organising. I need time as i dont want the day to be a load of S@~t.
I am also open to idea's so please feel free to slap in some comments

Well practice can be done its not a problem. Now would you like a pratice day with just BMW'S and what we can do is hold a mini comp in the afternoon for those who want to take apart.

How likely is it that drifting will do damage to the suspension or drivetrain? Sounds like fun, but I couldn't afford to do big damage...

if your cars in healthy condition and your new to drifting, not particularily likely you'll break anything. where as i break something everytime i go drifting but thats just my car telling me it wants to die

Were I to attend, I'd only just have bought the car, so won't know its health... I'll have to give it a miss I'm afraid.Rearwheel_nick wrote:if your cars in healthy condition and your new to drifting, not particularily likely you'll break anything. where as i break something everytime i go drifting but thats just my car telling me it wants to die

should be fine......unless your diff whines leaks oil etc, i would say most of the strain is on the diff or gearbox the boxes are pretty indistructable and so are the large case diffs

Standard engine, auto and no lsd doesnt make for a good drift car

Are you saying that the E30 Drift day will be at Silverstone?
For how many people said they were going to Silverstone last time dropped out cos it was too far or had their other reasons and it was only Dave & Karan doing the drifting.
I think there should be a meet for potential drifter's to make sure they turn up for the actual day! And maybe in an area where we can all get in the spirit of drifting for those who are not too sure about how to do it or whether to do it.

Not sure what is central for everyone depending on who is actually up for it?Dee wrote:Well where would you guys say is a central place then.
If people are up for the meet then they can put their name down and location, then we can all decide where the best place would be.
eg; Me (Jon- Essex)
Rich (TOURINGDADDY-Portsmouth)
Dave (Davetouring- Cambridge)
This is an example but does'nt help as the centre of location is London
I don't think we will find a drifting ground in London without getting nicked
If anyone has any idea's of a decent location for us boys & ower toys without worrie of Authority then feel free to help as this could be a great & regular meet
