Don’t suppose anyone knows the price of these from the stealer, I’ll ask in the OE parts section or just ring my local BMW when I’m actually ready to buy but was hoping some of you may have already purchased some??

some of the rubbing strips are NLA but if you can get them, all it adds up to around £300

i bought the three genuine rear bumper mouldings on my facelift and they cost me 100. 20 for each side and 40 for the middle.very pricey but really smartened the car up.as for the door moulds not sure but i replaced mine with second hand ones that were minters so maybe post an ad in the wanted section.

All well and good but you'll only have to paint them again 6 months down the line rubber flexes and moves in the heat/cold which will crack the paint

I got genuine bumper inserts (front and rear) for about £120 from Motormec a couple of years ago.

hmmm...motormec just quoted me the same as Sytners...to the penny, (and also added in a delivery charge). Main dealer it is then.

I bought door rubbing strips to replace my chrome ones off a zoner for about 15 quid posted.

I do have some chrome rubbing strips for a coupe all round if anyone needs them.

I was thinking of giving mine a fresh lick of paint once the re-spray was done, but was conscious of the issue you pointed out. It will crack!

What would you recommend instead? What about shoe polish?..

Thanks :D

Nah shoe polish is only a temp fix, you would probably be alright painting the hard black plastic bumper inserts although the front one would suffer from stone chips quite a lot.

It’s just the side rubbing strips that I really wouldn’t recommend painting as they are basically solid lumps of rubber and really won’t take well to paint.

I’ve opted to just try and source the mintist second hand ones I can find
