What is a fair price for an E34 sump, oil pick up & dipstick etc ?
A set went last night for about £90 on ebay, my local scrappy says they'll do the lot for about £50 but obviously I've got to wait til one comes in (& stop them draining the oil via a hammer through the sump !!)
Any ideas ??

yea £50 is the going rate for them i think. You can also use the m50 2 litre sump out of the 520i which might be easyer to find!

That's why I was hoping the scrappy's would do it for me or I'd find one on an engine that'd been removed,
I've read all about having to lift the engine to access all the bolts,
Thanks,

Don't suppose anyone knows where I can buy some hens teeth, it would appear they're easier to get hold of than a sump / pick up pipe / dipstick set up !!

there are plenty of M50 lumps in E34's in my local scrappy here in York, but you are not allowed to remove engines yourself and they charge £40 to remove an engine, any engine, no matter what it is costs £100.

It's just whether there is enough bits left over worth selling to make some money back and bring the cost down.

Thanks for that, I'll hold that thought as a last option,

I can vouch for that!
I took a sump of a car in the scrappy yesterday, took an engine lift, support brace but it wouldnt lift the engine enough. So i spent the best part of 5 hours getting everything off, ended up dropping the subframe and a strut brace of some kind underneath.
Some of the bolts are a bit fiddley to get at.
I got the sump,oil pump n pipe,dipstick,bushes and accelerator cable.All for £15!! :D :D
