Hi all, upon beginning to paint the track car i decided that the m30 sits very close to the bonnet (the connector plug for the stepper motor acually touches) Was wondering if anybody has a made a custom bonnet for their e30? preferably raised or at least raised in the middle (scoops ect) Just thought i would throw this at you to get some ideas in my head.. If im going to start chopping the bonnet i best get it done before i paint!

I've seen some E30's that have the bonnet lifted slightly to give more clearence kinda looks like the bonnet has been left open.

The bonnet on Rav,s car has been modified, and he is running a M30.
Not sure if that,s the reason why it,s been done, but it suits his car imo.
Don,ttell him i said that though.

Totally functional, lets the heat out of the engine bay very well, as when the electric fan kicks in, you can feel the rush of hot air escaping.

not that much, the sunk bit still allowed water to run down off the bonnet if it was parked up in the rain or being washed, when driving in rain its different ball game. the car was so rusty the water wouldnt have done much damage anyway lole30topless wrote:

every vented bonnet will let water in some how

surely if it was fitted to the right car , (cherished) it wouldn't matter,
it would be in a garage during the rain ?
it does look pretty good

the car was used and used hard for 2 years, while dips owned it and a further year when i had it on the road. when i finaly finish re building it, it will be garaged and parked next to the e24
i like it, even though its not that functional. dips is handy and creative
