Finally got my 318is.

It has the m44 1.9 engine with 325i flywheel and the 323i clutch and thrust bearing conversion done. Apparantly.

LSD box.
New brakes all round,
Straight through exhaust system (loud and sounds horrible) Scorpion Dtm thingy back box,
ABS,
Coilovers,
Strut brace,
K&N induction with is coming off,
New suspension bushes all round,
New strut tops,
One new lower arm

Some alarm that sends texts to this device if someone touches it, with a remote start (chavvy) and some timer thing that keeps the car running for a minute when you turn the engine off, trying to figure out how to remove that as well as there is no point to it.

I tried to my hardest to find rot and rust so i could knock the guy down on price but there wasnt a patch of rust/rot to be found. The engine doesn't tap at all. it is very mechanically sound and the structure is great. Even has a custom made sump cover protector thing.

A few faults.

Pulls to one side - might be to do with only have one lower arm replaced or might be tracking or tyre pressure.
Vibrates at 60-70mph - Doesn't vibrate any other times only at this speed, It the U joint on the prop shaft, I'm getting full replacement prop shaft for 20 pounds.

No floor carpet - as he was going to fit a roll cage.
Needs a spray job - Not a problem :D
Needs Bnw badge for front.
Rear boot lid knackered but he has given me a replacement.

that timer thing that keeps the engine running is a turbo timer mate. ma mate has one on his scoobi. the vibrating in the wheel is your wheels they need balanced its not very expensive and the pulling to one side is your tracking again probably twenty quid to sort. nice car like not sure about the black wheels tho.

LSD is limited slip differential - controls how the power is metered out to the rear wheels, it's not a type of gearbox.

Will help enormously in leaving long lines of rubber on the road if you give it the beans on take off

Hi yeah the timer is set by the alarm on this one. I have managed to disable it from the alarms fob.

The alarm is a peice of junk to be honest. its a Golden Eagle china poo thing lol

I see white 3 doors around here all the time.

There's a few E30 around here, or used to be.

You have to give me a shout when you out and about and have to meet up or something!

No no, just the extra holes for the extra speakers you have, will have meant the metal will have had to have been cut away, therefore strength in that area will be lost. :D

I paid 900. A bit too much but i got sick of waiting around. I'm happy with what I got in comparision to other E30's I have seen for sale.

No history at all with it. All I have is the last MOT.

I'm not sure about the fly kit? is there a way to tell?

Made a start today. Stripped the boots carpet, wheel etc out so I can fully investigate the situation back there and I was pretty impressed to be honest.

A bit messy:

Image

So after a clean up it wasn't that bad in the end:

Image

A quick sand and a lick of paint and I shall be happy that. Black Hammerite or underseal? Not sure which one to use?

To the right of the boot was a nice puddle, god knows where that came from as there isn't any marks etc to show any sings of the water running down form somewhere. So i will just have to monitor this area a litte:

Image

The car suffers from overspray on everything so I have made a start sorting this out, first of all around the boot lid and back window seal since I had already started my work here:

Before

Image

After

Image

Not in bad condition really. I shall finish this area later.

Boring stuff was done like steam cleaning the interior and making a list of screws and bolts that are missing out of the dashboard! lol

That water in the boot well will most likely be the rear light seals. Cheap and easy to replace. Looks like a well sorted solid base for a project. Nice one
