The irony here being that Barclay had no problem offloading the shitheap to me. Then as soon as I actually spend some time and money improving the condition of it I get flamed because I have the audacity for selling it on for a price that'll show little to no profit. Everyone conveniently forgetting along the way that what I paid for it in no way reflects what I'm selling it for nowDanThe wrote:No, nothing like poly bushes at all....
Maybe you should fit some to that sh1t heap your trying to palm off for over £2k? Would at least make Barclay feel a little bit better knowing you had actually done something worthwhile perhaps
Then again I suppose that's why I'm driving an S50'd Tech 2 Sport running on BBS RS' with pretty much every conceivable worthwhile aftermarket mod fitted, and have my eye on a nice M3 Cabby...... cos attitude is what's important. Like I give a toss if some loser can't stomach the fact that I spot opportunities all the time and am in a position to exploit them! Really, I don't know how I sleep at night! (Soundly, for those who can't see the sarcasm here!)
I guess some things will never change. Fill your bushings with aluminium if you want buddy. It's obviously a credible solution in your eyes.
Maybe taking the axle off the car and actually replacing the bushings is too much effort after all eh?
I'd rather have one consistent lump of "plastic" underneath my car any day than a knackered bushing filled with some "laser cut" aluminium wedges. Each to their own.
Laters,
Seány
Anyone who knows of an S50 B32/B30 E30 for sale, please let me know.

You clearly have no concept on how things work... good luck with your engine conversion
For anyone who didnt realise, these are made from PVC and are designed to 'help' the standard bushes, as my post on the previous page states

Ok Sorry, My bad.
I asumed they were Aluminium as that's what they appeared to be made from on my screen. The colour looked remarkably like they had an anodised aluminium finish.
Also I'd never heard of Nylon being Lazer Cut so that was another reason I was sure they were Alumium.
PVC will be better than alumium at this job, but I still stand by my original stance.
As for me not knowing how things work... I have an Engineering Degree that would suggest the opposite.

So to summarise your input on this thread -
-You think its a bad idea to fit them, although you cant think of a downside
-You assume your poly bushes are better, even though you have never used these or taken into account any feedback from somebody that has
-You think a rubber mount with a PVC support is the same as poly
-You drive an engine converted car with a tech 2 kit so you are obviously better at everything in life in general
-You got an engineering degree from a box of cornflakes
-You are still feeling guilty about ripping Barclay off

Can we find another 3 people to complete this buy?
Come on guys.
I am an Engineer with 40 years of experience of putting right the quaint ideas the people with degrees think up.
These will work. The principles are sound.
Even BMW worked this out when they made solid M bushes in various places on their "go faster" range of cars.

Any idea when they will be done? My m50 is shagged so when i find a new engine (if i find a decent one!) i'll be stuffing these in at the same time.

Timing chain is knackered - extreme death rattle! i can hear a knocking noise every now and again, abit tappy.
I have seen your advert bud. I don't have the time or expertise to do it atm though
i'd still need a engine to stuff in the car while i upgrade the non vanos - i don't have alot of spare time/money atm
