Picked up my engine yesterday 3.2 evo and removed ews ring, ews modg and controller. the engine came complete with ecu, engine loom and all the other bits.
I will have the prop and box by the end of the week but still no lsd.

have a read of the M50 developments thread if you haven't already

you'll need M50 sump and oil pickup pipe for starters + dipstick and tube

2 x E28 M535i engine mounts

E36 alloy eng mount arms( should have these fitted to the S50 )
Product Development and Endurance for Delphi.

Original performance chips, original works not unlicensed copies :D Email FTW

s50 block is same externally as m50, the sump you need comes from the e34 525i or 520i, make sure you get one from an m50 engined car. :)

you need the oil pick up pipe from the e34 that you get the sump from.

To get the engine it, you need to remove the emission pump and pipe, mount the trans, swap the oil sump, pickup, and pump, then you can basically drop the whole setup in.

You need E34 oil pickup and sump, and S50B30 oil pump.

Other things you may want to do
- Tighten the oil pump sprocket nut and apply some locktite to the nut. (highly recommended)
- Change to ARP rod bolts (optional)
- Modify engine wiring

Now depending where and how you want to install the header tank, you might want to consider the LHD E36 water pipe. If you did want to go that route, I really suggest you do it while the engine is out as well.

cheers for your replies :D You lot are sorted :D
What is the advantage of having the lhd water pipe is this to do with the location of the header tank.
3.0 m3 oil pump why is this required. sorry for being dum but i want to understand the conversion i am doing not judt build the car :)
What size engine dose the oil pic up have to come off or will any pic up do

once again thanks to all for your help :D

You need the oil pick up pipe and sump from a 1991-1996 E34 525i or 520i with the M50 24v engine.

The 3.2 has a dual pick up pump which will not fit inside the M50 sump.

Either the 2.0 or 2.5 M50 from the E34.

This only applies if you want to install the header tank at the front battery tray. You can do it differently to achieve the same result but using LHD water pipe makes it look neater, IMO.

BTW, you should read other people's thread like old_skool's, jai's, Jhonno's, buster's, just to name a few. There's a bunch of info there and some good pics too.
